"Five of us arrived famished at 6:45 PM on a Wednesday. It was not busy, only two other parties, I.e., couples. We ordered onion soup, escargot, rack of lamb, chicken Marsala, and flank steak. And three drinks. Total with tip, came to $210. The food presentation was surprising! We’ve been to France, and know that gourmet does NOT mean everything slopped together. The scalloped potatoes (a wet dish) were hidden under the Marsala (another wet dish) and inseparable. The broccoli spears were hanging over the edges of the platters. The stems could’ve used a trimmer. Everything was delicious, save for the chicken, so tough that cutting into it flattened and mixed into the potatoes. Sad to say, the waiter gets points off for taking too long to deliver the entrees. Three arrived lukewarm. The rack of lamb was especially late, and ironically, raw in the centers. The best thing about the waiter was his good looks and regularly refilling the water. I recognize that the service in France is customarily slow. We hadn’t eaten since breakfast, and hence are kicking ourselves for having chosen the French Gourmet that evening."
