"We have always loved Maggiano's every time we have visited. We had our daughters wedding reception there and it holds a special place in our heart. We decided to go out Christmas Eve and made reservations. We arrived early and sat at the bar and had a few drinks, while waiting. We found out that our reservation was a little later than we thought so enjoyed another drink at the bar. Everything was great up until then. The first thing I saw as they were seating us, was the sanitation score of 86! I should have known better, and left, but it was almost 8 PM on Christmas Eve. We were seated and our waiter took our drink order and brought us bread. We also ordered a salad that came promptly and it was good. I did ask her to have a glass of Chianti when our dinner arrived. The bread was excellent and I really cannot complain about our waiter. We then waited and waited for our meal, after a long time she came over and apologized that it was taking so long, and was going to take 20.00 of our bill. (we did not ask for this, or had even complained) It was about another 20 minutes and our food arrived. My husband had the filet, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was not even lukewarm, it was cold. He did manage to eat most of it. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. It was the worst looking plate of food I have ever been served. The chicken breasts looked ok, but it looked like a jar of capers were dumped on the plate and spinach that was not cooked and just thrown on there, also the spaghetti, was cold and stuck together, there was not sauce or anything to be found. The Chicken tasted burnt, although, it did not look burnt. I took one bite and could not eat anymore. I did eat some asparagus, and that was about it. My Chianti came about 10 minutes after my husband finished. We do realize it was Christmas Eve, but even with that it was just a horrible dinner. I am not sure I can ever go back, and that makes me sad as we have enjoyed this place so much over the years."
