"I recently dined at Thirsty Restaurant on Vincennes Street in Cape Coral and wanted to share my experience. I opted for the cold platter, which came with a cup of their house-made chili. The chili was decent but could have used some hot sauce to bring out its flavor. The cold platter included a nice variety of chilled items, such as your choice of egg salad or chicken salad, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a dipping sauce, olives, and assorted vegetables. It made for a light and refreshing meal on a hot day, perfect for anyone looking for something healthy. It was simple yet satisfying, priced at around $9, and you won't find this dish offered many other places. I genuinely enjoyed it. The service was excellent as well. I finally made my way to Thirsty, the oldest restaurant in Cape Coral. Although it's not upscale, the warm atmosphere made me feel like a regular right away, even though it was my first visit. I was seated promptly and handed a menu, and before I could really peruse it, my server enthusiastically informed me of the daily special. I decided to go with the homemade beef barley soup and the stuffed fish, which was also a daily special. The beef barley soup was fantastic—served steaming hot and full of flavor, with so much beef and barley that I could hardly fit in any crackers! The portion of stuffed fish was generous and came with rice and a shrimp-filled sauce, which was outstanding, though a bit saucy for my preference. Ultimately, the portion sizes were so large that I needed a doggy bag for my leftovers. If you're in the mood for some classic American fare, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s more suited for traditional diners than those seeking adventurous cuisine, like myself."
