"We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushroom noodles are my favorite along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and cooked perfectly. The salads are crispy and properly dressed and the wine list is huge and delicious. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top quality food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining space, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will no doubt be back soon. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and food in the region to celebrate small business ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious."

"Went out looking for a light lunch and coffee and was surprised to see this place. Normally when you see a pastry and coffee shop you don't also see wood-fired oven pizzas and handmade ice cream. I would have been fine with a plain croissant, but the fact that you could turn a fine pastry into a hot sandwich was too good an opportunity to pass. Everything tasted better than I was necessarily expecting, not that I didn't think it would be good because I did. I drank the espresso too fast to get a picture of it. I would definitely recommend trying the hot food at this place if you go. Depending on what you're getting, this is one of those places where the earlier you go, the better/more stuff will be there to choose from such as the pastries. Look forward to visiting here again."

"I read some of the reviews and it seems like this restaurant has some service issues. There was a new girl training when i visited this bakery and i hope they are resolving all that. Also I had a to go order so I can't comment on their service in particular. What I can comment on is their grilled cheese sandwich. I raved about it for days. I also bought mini tarts, the filling and crust was splendid however the fruits were a day too old to be on the display."

"disappointed. Went through the drive thru today at 1:59pm. Order was taken by Jalisha. Felt very rushed trying to order, staff was not very helpful, spoke maybe a few words at window. I said “ thank you have a good day”, nothing was said back to me- window was shut. Order was wrong. Chips that came with the gyro were hard and stale. There was PAPER in the lettuce on the gyro. Ordered a club sandwich with no onion- onion was all over it. Alfredo noodles were hard barely any sauce, rubbery chicken. Unfortunately will not return. Had very high hopes for this restaurant. Disappointing is an understatement. Worst $38 spent. Owner was not available when I called to report the paper being in the gyro. Very frustrating experience."

"First trip to Carlo’s Bake Shop after binging Cake Boss. I’m late to the party, I know. The Marlton Location is local for me, so I was super excited to visit the bakery! I selected a cannoli (duh), lobster tail, cheesecake, strawberry rainbow cake slice an adorable pin set. Totaling around $42. I’ve never had a lobster tail so I’m not sure how they’re supposed to taste, but it was SUPER crunchy. Everything else was delicious. All in all it’s a cute little shop! Definitely on the pricier side, however I enjoyed the experience"

"I usually don't write reviews, but I was really disappointed by Mia’s Bakery recently, despite being a long-time fan. I ordered a custom cake with their salted caramel flavor, which tasted great, but the final design was nowhere close to what I had submitted. To make matters worse, the cake was 2.5 hours late! This was simply unacceptable. I had placed my order a week in advance and even arrived later than the agreed pickup time to accommodate them. I called multiple times to confirm that picking it up an hour later would be fine, and they assured me it was. However, when I arrived, the staff member seemed completely confused by my name and request, and it was clear something was wrong. They mentioned, “this is all very disorganized." I ended up waiting nearly an hour only to receive what looked like a rushed, last-minute project. It was obvious my order had been forgotten. I would have preferred honesty upfront so I could have opted for a standard caramel cake, which at least would have looked appealing. Instead, I received a cake with poorly attached and cut edible paper that didn’t resemble my reference at all. I ended up being late for the party, and on top of that, the cake was quite expensive."

"Best BAKESHOP in the EAST BAY! This is not an exaggeration! We first discovered them at the Brentwood Farmer’s Market, and the treats were so amazing that I craved more the very next day! Although they aren’t located right next to AMC in Brentwood as some of the photos suggest, you can find them at the intersection of Brentwood and Nancy. You must try their brownie with walnuts! My partner typically isn’t a fan of brownies, but after tasting Doré’s version, she couldn’t resist asking if she could have one all to herself when I bought two for myself! Another standout item is the croissant filled with almonds, chocolate, and bananas. We're determined to sample their entire menu because everything is just so delicious. If you’re looking for something special and the display case is empty, don’t hesitate to ask if they have more treats available in the back—they usually do! This place is truly a hidden gem in Brentwood, but it's so outstanding that it deserves the spotlight! I just had to share the wonderful pastries!"

"They sell amazing poke bowls to taste. After eating one you're already planning your next return, which has been the same day for me. I ordered thesame thing, 6 hours apart, yet the bowls were soooo different. The second bowl was lacking ingredients and overall disappointing compared to the phenomenal bowl they made earlier. If the first one wasn't so good I wouldn't be so disappointed with the second one. I really do recommend them. I just would not eat there twice in same day so you don't ruin it for yourself like I did. Picture is the first bowl they made. I didn't bother taking a picture of the second because it doesn't do them justice."

"Authentic French patisserie! I came in the middle of the week and it was bustling(always a good sign). I love the outdoor seating options with plenty of shade from the umbrellas. Each table has mason jars of flesh picked flowers. The selection of sandwiches and pastries were heavenly. When choosing a sandwich, you get the option of making it a half size or full size. Half sizes can be made on a croissant or focaccia , and a full being on a baguette. I also ordered a guava and OJ juice which was exciting because I rarely see that combination available. "Very delicous!????????. For the first time in the three years that I live in the USA, I ate real Tiramisu at Ferrara Bakery Cafe. I tried this dessert in dozens of restaurants and cafes, and only here I was able to find a delicious, not sugary, soft, non-spreading Tiramisu with a pronounced taste and smell of coffee and coffee liqueur. "When I came here, I got the Cream Horn, Chocolate Eclair, Tiramisu cup, Raspberry vanilla cake, and vanilla cookie cake. There was only one thing I didn 't love (still ate lol, but didn 't love as much as the rest) their very self hyped up cookie cake. It 's basically two layers of thin, not very flavorful, somewhat dry biscuit with a couple layers of cream and strawberries. The cream was light and delicious, but I would have preferred it much more in regular cake form the raspberry cake slice was moist, airy, delicious and perfectly sweet. But it was an unfortunate disappointment that the cookies were more like pieces of slightly sweet cardboard for the cream to sit on. If they just focused on regular cakes it would be perfect, because the regular cake was AMAZING. Now to get to what was amazing the Tiramisu Cup was probably the best $6.50 purchase I 've ever made and probably some of the best Tiramisu I 've ever had. The entire cup is made of bittersweet chocolate and the filling is just as Tiramisu should be loaded with cream on top and moist coffee and ladyfingers on the bottom. Literally 1000000/10. The chocolate eclair and cream horn were both really good too. Delicious, airy cream and the pastry was great. Overall, everything was great, gorgeous, and the place was adorable looking and clean except the cookie cake, which felt like a waste of 7 bucks."

"I picked up a chocolate ganache cake for my sister's birthday. I ordered it well in advance of the 48 hours notice for special cakes. I was very disappointed in the appearance of the cake. This cake was for a special occasion and did not live up to that standard. It did not have the rose decoration that is shown on the website and the writing on the cake was not very attractive and looked like it was done at the last minute, not like something that had been ordered well in advance. I was also disappointed in the service that I received. I set a pick up time of 5 pm so that the person picking up the cake for me around 7 pm would not have to spend any time waiting for the cake. I know that your shop closes at 8 pm. Someone from your bakery called me at 7 pm to ask if someone was coming to pick up the cake. I assured them that someone was on the way to get the cake and would be there soon. However, when my brother in law arrived at the bakery shortly after that the cake was not ready for him and he had to wait some time for it. He said that it looked like you were still finishing the cake. I feel that I did not get the special cake that was advertised on your website."
