"I visited lulu is my first night in hawaii from comfort, as it was right next to my hotel and it was going quickly to eat for the rest of the trip. I loved the uninhibited sea view and the friendly service. it will probably not win any prizes for eating, but all I had was good. her breakfast burrito was on par with conos, the nachos were great, big breakfast etc. we ate there at least once to breakfast lunch and dinner and every time when the experience was about the same...big"

"Dined at HMK last year and had a good experience restaurant was move food and service were good. Was excited this year and dined at the restaurant last night with my family and was very disappointed. It started with the hostess very unfriendly. We had a salad with monchong (market fish). The salad was matted dried and presented terribly the fish was dried and not good. First thing that came to my mind is our dinner the night before at Cocanuts and lower end family restaurant was much better and a third of the cost. The server was not very personal had a time hard getting him back to our table to with our bill. The restaurant was not busy. Also, which I felt bad for our server he was sweating from his face while taking our order. Luckily he was not bringing out the food. This restaurant is very pricey and presents as a high end food establishment which it might have been when it opened but that is no longer the case They need to retrain their staff clean up their restaurant and relook at the back of the house cook staff sending out the food we received was unacceptable."

"Highly recommended for a romantic sunset dinner. We went at 6;30 and were seated with a view of the Pacific from the balcony. We celebrated our anniversary with the world 's award winning Mai Tai, and a bottle of nigori sake, Miso soup was the best I 've ever had , we also had surf and turf between us (sharing the lobster tails and the thickest strip steak ever, paired with asparagus and delicious laminated scalloped potatoes, amazing flavor and presentation all around. The service was top notch 10 out of 10, and the server must 've heard us toast with our drinks because she surprised us at the end of our meal with a happy anniversary dessert plate! What a thoughtful gift! The date was perfect and within walking distance of the Outrigger Reef."

"Horrible experience. Left after a drink and appetizer which were both good. Menu is limited and had changed since our last time there. The main reason we left was the service. Tried to seat us at two horrible tables when the restaurant was completely dead. Then the waiter apparently decided we weren’t going to leave a good tip or order much and ignored us. Heard him telling the other table all about the various specials and couldn’t be bothered to share any of them with us. At that point we decided to ask for our bill and leave. The waiter seemed surprised we were leaving after completely ignoring us the whole time. Seems to be a common theme here, not the first time I’ve had bad service and feel like they don’t think you can afford to be there. Lots of other much better restaurants in Wailea, wouldn’t waste my time or money here."

"While I was here, the In-Yo Cafe was located in the space normally associated with Waiolu due to a private event. The different location offered beautiful views of the surrounding area and was perfect for breakfast. I've sampled the buffet, the stuffed French Toast, and the silver dollar buttermilk pancakes. (I made this reservation under the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts program, which gives $60 credit for breakfast each day; note the buffet is $32 per person. The food is good, not amazing but more than sufficient for a good meal to start the day. The buffet has some fruit, yogurt, pastries (three kinds including chocolate croissant , fried rice, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs (the mass produced sort , and one dish that seems to change each day (green eggs and ham, mochi pancakes, etc. . Also two kinds of juice (orange and pineapple. All in all a very positive experience and an excellent option for a relaxing start to the day!"

"After living in Kauai for 4 yrs, we decided to try the Turkey Brunch at the Garden Grille at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was prepared. We sat in the formal dining room, the tables were covered with black table cloths, the chairs were comfortable and the servers were attentive giving us silverware wrapped in cloth napkins, glasses of water and ice tea. The room was comfortable with a nice breeze flowing thru and lush greenery of trees and plants outside the open windows/doors. We helped ourselves to the silver bins with lids to find herb roasted turkey slices in gravy, buttered mashed potatoes, sage dressing, prime rib and ham carving stations with horseradish and cranberry on the side, pumpkin soup, rolls with butter, crab legs, and Mahi Mahi. We could make as many trips as we wanted. Dessert was pumpkin pie, custard pie, apple cobbler, bread pudding and baklava. Now we have to try their breakfast buffet which they offer daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m."

"Honey Hi does a delightful brunch if you have $70 to spare for two people. Definite sticker shock here, even for a freshly gentrified Echo Park, but I have to admit that everything was pretty pitch perfect. There 's a certain flavor/feeling when eating very local, or at least ingredients that have been off the vine/bush/free very shortly prior to being put on your plate, and Honey Hi has this flavor/feeling down. My mom 's breakfast bowl came with a salad that was full of herby, spicy, all-different-tasting greens, and while the hash wasn 't exactly crispy, it didn 't end up mattering because the flavor combination was so spot on with the bright greens and the savory hash and the smattering of hearty bacon. And my beans 'n ' greens could have easily just been a brothy bowl of beans at a lesser restaurant, but instead, the cilantro oil and pistachio hovered in the background while the garlicky kale shot into the foreground. And the beans could never have been mistaken for having come from a can.The smoothies (it should be reiterated, at $15, the same price as my beans), are also great. My Pondicherry Lassi tasted like a pumpkin pie crossed with a very strong herbal tea crossed with a vegetably lassi. It was pleasant to chew the coconut meat chunks at the end. My mom 's Tangerine Julius smelled like a grove of citrus and thankfully lacked the cloyingness of a standard Orange Julius."
