"I visited this restaurant hoping to try their food, but unfortunately, the staff seemed indifferent and reluctant to serve. No one asked if I wanted to place an order, and I kept receiving strange looks. However, as soon as three Spanish customers walked in, the workers immediately greeted them and asked for their orders, as if I wasn't there first. This wasn't a one-time occurrence, and honestly, I won’t stand for that, especially when there are plenty of other better Spanish restaurants in the area. I've seen multiple reviews claiming the staff has biases against Black customers, and based on my experience, I believe them!"

"I went this past Friday after seeing video upon advertised video on Instagram of the pan con queso. Oh boy, I was excited. There was a 20 minute wait for my food to arrive once I ordered it. A lot of the reviews mentioned this so I was prepared, but hungry! The pan con queso looked promising when I got the cheese pull demonstrated in my first photo, but there was an initial concern when there were 2, not one, patties of cheese. Let me explain, 2 patties would generally make me happy but it doesn?t mean you get more cheese. Two patties means you get double the breading, and worse there is an aftertaste on your tastebuds of the oil that lingers around for a while. It?s more like pan con un poquito de queso y mas pan con el flavor de aceite. Once my initial bite was over, I noticed even more that the amount of cheese to bread ratio was off. In my second photo it appears to be the thickness of one slice of cheese. I?m trying to give you all the benefit of the doubt. Maybe all of the cheese comes out with that initial cheese pull? The third picture shows what happened when I had to hunt for my queso. I will go back to try something else, and hopefully I can review again with a higher rating. The pan con queso is a no go for me though. 3 stars because it had potential, but it is highly NOT recommended unless Taino?s wants to give me what is advertised on Instagram."

"Ordered the empanadas as an appetizer, the chicken one was the best out of the 4 I tried. It came with a hot sauce that was delicious. The Nutella one tasted old as if it was frozen for a long time and barely defrosted before it was served. The carne asada mufongo was good. Needed more salt on the mufongo and was heavy with the pepper on the steak but overall it was good. The Birria tacos were good. The best item on the menu I had. The service wasn’t the best, i had to constantly get up to get service. Waitress didn’t check up on us one time. Lastly the environment was a cool vibe to chill in with the music and the bar area. I wouldn’t go back to dine in but i might order to pick up certain things on the menu."

"My mother and I visited the cafe with a relative and a friend. We ordered vegetarian meals, but unfortunately, the black beans were slightly burnt. I mentioned this to our server, who kindly removed the charge from our bill. Aside from that, we enjoyed our vegetarian dishes. Our companions ordered chicken meals, but one of them chose chicken tenders that were as tough as shoe soles—definitely not the tender experience one would expect! Additionally, my relative had soup that gave her indigestion because the potato or turnip inside wasn't cooked properly. She was also disappointed with her chicken dish. On a positive note, our server was very polite and attentive throughout our visit. I just wished all my guests had enjoyed their meals and had a better experience overall. Lastly, it would be great to have more vegetarian options beyond just white rice, black beans, and salad. Although the black beans were a bit burnt, they were still edible."

"The food at this restaurant was excellent. As a vegetarian, I ordered the habichuelas and arroz con grandules, which were both hot and fresh. The lady at the counter was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. My only suggestion would be to offer more vegan and vegetarian options, such as using Gardien crumbles to make vegan empanadas. Overall, this is a fantastic spot with great prices and excellent customer service."

"I ordered breakfast online, specifically the tres golpe with mangu. I clearly requested scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, but I never indicated that I only wanted eggs. When I received my order, I called the restaurant, and the woman I spoke to was quite rude. She insisted that because I had requested scrambled eggs, I didn’t want anything else. She made that assumption but still charged me the full price as if my order was complete. To make matters worse, the mangu was dry and flavorless. I'm very disappointed and definitely won’t be ordering from here again."

"I visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday to watch my friends perform in their band. Before I went, I checked out the place on social media, and the photos looked amazing. When I arrived, it did not disappoint. As someone who works in the industry, I know that in venues with live music and large crowds, service can often be lacking. However, our waitress, Lisandra, exemplified excellent customer service with her kindness, attentiveness, and constant smile. This not only applied to our table but to all the customers she served. It might seem trivial, but I truly appreciated her attention to detail, like promptly clearing away unused glasses and utensils—something that often gets overlooked in busy places. This focus on detail is very important to me. Thank you for a wonderful experience!"

"I came to this spot to hear Caribbean and Afrobeats music but they played more late 90s 2000 music n rap. If you label a party certain music I expect it to be just that. I left early because the music was not it around 2am. Maybe it was who promoted the party or the DJ but just do what you say you're going to do. "Refreshing change of pace from the standard bacon egg and cheese from the Bodega.. they have alot of options, including bacon egg and cheese, it's Dominican/Spanish food mostly.. they have lunch ready in the morning if you want something more substantial.. Caribbean style oatmeal, teas, coffee.. I frequent this place when I'm in the area. Big restaurant with a decent sized sit down area. Coolers with alot options for bottled beverages."

"Im complementing Cocina Mia for their excellent food service towards their menu. I noticed this mobile restaurant off of Hall Road in Orlando. My wife ordered a Pina Colada along with her order. As I tasted her Pina Colada, it hit me as I was back in Puerto Rico enjoying the flavor of a real Pina Colada that so far a few restaurants where capable of matching that flavor. When I tried and tasted my wife’s order, the flavor empanadas and the alcapurrias surpassed all the Spanish restaurants of Orlando. My hat off to this mobile restaurant! Recommend to open a restaurant and take it from there"

"We picked up a takeout order from Mis Raices in Teaneck, NJ. The food here is YUMMY! : This is a “go to” place for Arroz Con Pollo, Rice and Beans, Empanadas, etc. It is authentic Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine. This was our first pick up since the current COVID pandemic restrictions, but not our first visit ever. We’ve ordered at least two dozen times but realized that I never wrote a review. This time, we ordered Arroz con Pollo (rice with chicken and red beans, Empanadas (our favorites are beef and cheese, chicken and cheese, beef, or plain cheese , alcapurria (a fried fritter filled with yuca and ground beef , and Chicharron de Cerdo (fried pork chunks with rice and gandules. Everything was DELICIOUS, FRESH, and MOIST!! It was the first time we tried alcapurria and I really wished we ordered a bunch instead of one! I didn’t get to take a picture of it because we shared it in the car- it smelled so good and tasted even better! We will definitely return to Mis Raices for more “yummy in the tummy” food!"

However, I was not a fan of the Yuca Fries; they tasted more like oil and fried dough than yuca, and the texture was not what I expected. "I bought a Sancocho I callo bad it tasted sour, and paresia 3 Días soup, not paresia sancocho, it only had cassava and chicken thigh. And the yellow color was artificial. How disgusting, what a shame, how harmful they are. If they continue like this, I won't give them much time until they close the place. Quality control will be coming to you soon. "Its not a fancy restaurant but the food is Delicious, one thing I must say is the mofongo here is well done but they give you either the grease from the pork chop or the water that they boil the chicken in to pour over your mofongo, they aren't puerto rican they're south american so they dont really know better that its supposed to be served with either caldito de pollo or el caldo de sopa de pollo but when i asked for caldito de pollo they brought me the water they boiled the chicken in for the empanadas smdh I ended up taking it home, making caldito de pollo myself and finishing my plate at home. Other than that the food is pretty good, can't brag about the beans tho."

"I want to give a shout-out to both the restaurant and my dasher. Living half an hour away, I expected that I would need to reheat my order, but to my pleasant surprise, it arrived hot and well-packaged. I ordered Combo 4, which featured flavorful steak smothered in onions, along with rice, beans, and a side of tostones. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portion size is generous enough to feed 4-5 people, and the price is extremely reasonable, especially since it includes a 2-liter bottle of soda. Not only is the food delicious, but it's also a fantastic value. I just had to share this with everyone!"
