"Absolute terrible experience from beginning to end. Waitress had too many tables and took an overly extended time to do anything for us. This resulted in over half of our table getting a cold entree. The best part was the manager lacked courage to even come to our table and apologize. Nothing was taken off our bill and blown away by the lack of understanding for an already overpriced restaurant."

"They serve the raw steak on a plate with a scorching hot 755-degree black rock, along with garlic butter to spread on each piece as you cook it. Honestly, it was one of the best steaks we've ever had at any steakhouse. The experience of cooking it to your preference made it so enjoyable and satisfying. You really get a lot of value for your money here—the sides were fantastic as well. For just $100, we had two steaks, an appetizer, and two beers. It was worth every penny! I highly recommend this place! Oh, and the service was excellent too!"

"the food was good. the staff was friendly and efficient. but 1. we waited another 20 minutes after we arrived there despite our priority sessions and did not get the high top position in my open table reservation. the hostess was unfriendly and acted oblivious that I had made this request. 2. it was so steamy from the squirting rocks that the floor was slippery, the air looked nebligly out, and I literally let meat boil there again. when we first went there, I loved it (before about 6 mo). this second time...not impressed."

"Amazing.... The food was just incredible. I was concerned about cooking at the table but the server, who was in the bar area today, timed everything perfectly. I think that's the key to a good experience is the timing with a concept like this. I've always wanted to try it and I'm really glad I went today. Once again, amazing! The only minor drawback is that the smoke gets a little intense with all of the food cooking at the tables. But still a 5 star experience."

"My wife wanted to treat me to the Black Rock dining experience for Father's Day. The server was great and very attentive. All food items were good except my 16oz ribeye steak. It was prepared in the kitchen instead of table and was supposed to be medium well. It took an extended period of time for the steak to come out. The steak arrived well done and tough. After mentioning it to the server, she informed the manager. We Did Not request a discount, free item or meal comp. The manager gave an excuse referencing the temperature of a medium well steak and seemed upset that he had to stop what he was doing. The restaurant had not been open long and there was no crowd. It was a disappointing experience."

"My wife and I dined at this restaurant on a Wednesday to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We were in search of a quick but delightful meal, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing! I had the tuna, and my wife chose the steak. I also highly recommend the asparagus and green beans – they were delicious!"

"I called to make a reservation, but they only offer priority seating, where you provide your name and receive a time slot without a guaranteed table. Still, I went ahead and reserved for 7:15 PM. We ended up being seated around 7:45 PM. The hostess welcomed us at the entrance, and our waitress was extremely attentive, checking in on us regularly. The manager also stopped by to ensure everything was going smoothly. We quickly placed our order, which included Atlantic salmon with asparagus and rice pilaf, chicken tortilla soup, Black Rock Ribs, a house salad, mac and cheese, and three jumbo shrimp. The soup and salad arrived first and were delicious, with the perfect portion sizes. Our main course was served after about 20 minutes and was beautifully presented and flavorful, with just the right amount of food. The ambiance was pleasant, and they were diligent about following safety protocols, cleaning and sanitizing the tables after each use. The only downside was that the floors were a bit greasy, and I noticed a few guests nearly slip. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at the Black Rock Ann Arbor location, and it has quickly become my new favorite place in Michigan."
