"As a preface, I’ve eaten at Bocci several times and have been generally pleased with the food and service. Unfortunately this instance was so poor (purely because of how long it took for the food to arrive) I felt compelled to write a review. We walked in at 5:20pm on a Saturday night with two young children, and it was pretty empty. Quickly got seated outside. Order was placed about 5:45pm (we would have placed it earlier but we received infrequent wait service from the start. 2 out of 3 entrees arrive an hour later at 6:45pm (feels like an eternity with young kids, especially at a less busy time) and my wife’s entree didn’t arrive until 7pm (after two reminders to the waitress that we were still waiting on it she seemed confused/frustrated that it hadn’t shown up yet), and we had to get it boxed up because we ran out of time. I hate complaining about this stuff, and I asked the waitress if they were short-staffed, figuring they were, and she said “no, just an issue ‘in the back’”… so who knows what the problem actually was, but I’m guessing at least the kitchen was short staffed and they just couldn’t process the orders fast enough. There was no offer to take anything off the bill, and I was dealing with a kid when she took my credit card so I didn’t even get a chance to ask and honestly at that point didn’t feel like dealing with it. I realize a lot of restaurants are short staffed nowadays, so I’m not complaining about the waitress or kitchen, but rather Bocci management for seating more tables than they can realistically handle. Again, we arrived early at 5:20pm. Our orders should have been relatively quick and easy to process as only about 1/4 of the tables were seated around that time. The restaurant got much more crowded after that. I wonder how long people who arrived at 6pm or 6:30pm had to wait for their food."
