"Overstimulation at its best. Everywhere you look at this bar, there is a TV. Look left, Look right Yup they're all there. And if you have bad eyesight? No worries because there's a mini tv at the booth you're sitting in. I almost want to say that this has to be the best place for a horrible first date. Why? Because if you're just that bored, you have so many TV's to distract you from the person you're sitting across. But I digress. I came to meet up a friend that was staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel and since it was convenient for her to meet up at the hotel bar, this place was perfect. It's open seating with no hostess but the service was super fast. The moment I sat myself down, a server came up to greet me and promptly brought some ice water to gulp down. I don't know about you, but water with ice. It's my go to. They have an industrial sized popcorn maker here full of freshly made popcorn standing at the back of the bar. It's serve yourself. You can bet that when I saw this, I marched right on over and grabbed a bag to fill it up. Freshly popped kernels while you wait? It doesn't take much to make me smile. Once everyone arrived (we had a table of 4), the server appeared again to take our orders and fill up my glass of water. Cheers to water again! Here's a breakdown: Big Kahuna Burger: Grass Fed Burger, Pork Belly, Fried Egg, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Smoked Cheddar, Chipotle Aoili I substituted the Pork Belly for Bacon instead and skipped out on the bun. While I really really wanted the truffle fries, I had the side salad instead. This burger was your typical burger and I can't say there was anything too special about it since I've had better. (Habit, Red Robin, The Counter to name off a few). You would think that I was being relatively good being mostly carb less. Until the rest of the group asked for a dessert menu. This is where it all went downhill for me. I rolled my eyes as my friends looked at me like I needed to share since they were ordering 2 separate plates of desserts. New York Cheesecake: Drizzled with fresh strawberries and syrup. This was okay. I'm not the biggest cheesecake fan so I can't really comment too much except to say that it was like every other cheesecake I've tried. It was however on the dry side and other ones I've had are creamier in texture. Bread pudding: This. With a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice cream and fresh whipped cream. I can't sing the praises enough for this piece of dessert. This bread pudding was outstanding. Moist, sweet but not overly so, doused in some Bourbon sauce... This was the star of the meal. I would come back just for this."
