"I’m a pretty fair reviewer and wanted to give Eltana a five star based on the taste of their delicious bagels. However, due to the experience of one of the workers, I felt compelled to write this. I was so excited to visit the location, as this was my first visit. It was a beautiful sunny day, I walked into Eltana around 2:00 pm and received my food order around 2:20 pm. The website says the business closes at 4:00 pm. There were three tables next to the window with chairs up and I decided to sit down at one of those tables to enjoy my bagel and watch the bustling movement of Capital Hill on Saturday afternoon. After about five minutes, a lady with green hair came over to me and asked me to move because the area was “closed”. I definitely understand closing procedures and operating as a small business, but I don’t think it would have hurt to allow me to sit there and enjoy my food and coffee. I asked her, very politely, if it would hurt to allow me to sit there and she said, in a harsh, disdainful tone, “it is part of our closing procedure and that section is closed.”My recommendation to this business is to amend the closing process, especially on a Saturday, to close down the back part of the seating area first to allow customers to enjoy window seating. And, praying that this person is not the owner, teach this employee what good customer service is. Why have the seating area closest to the street view off limits during a busy business day and two hours before closing time? To note: the person who took my order was polite. At that point, I didn’t even want to finish my sandwich, my coffee, or choose another seat. I probably won’t come back or purchase the product again. However, a response from the owner of this business could change the bad taste this experience left me with."
