"From 9/29/21: Anyways must have changed kitchen staff recently. This is my second disappointing order in a row. The pretzel sticks are burnt and as hard as a rock. There is no way these should have been served. Please view video with this review. I want you to see what I mean. From 2020/ original review: I wish I had taken pictures but I literally inhaled everything I ordered and am now sitting here trying to fend off a food coma. The Italian beef egg rolls are amazing. A tad bit on the salty side but crispy on the outside, hot and spicy on the inside and overall delicious. The cool ranch wrap was incredible. Upgraded the side item to the Black and Tan onion rings, another good choice on my part. The guac was so flavorful, but I didn’t try the salsa that came with it because I ordered 2 desserts the molten chocolate cake and key lime pie. If you love rich chocolatey desserts, go for the molten cake. You won’t regret it. The key lime pie was light, tart and creamy. "

The owners have done an impressive job of creating a space that is family-friendly, intimate enough for a romantic date, lively enough for a night out with friends, and tranquil enough for dining with an elderly family member or even eating solo. The warm lighting indoors creates a relaxed ambiance, and the music is at just the right volume for conversation. The minimalist decor contrasts wonderfully with the modern architecture, producing an environment that feels both inviting and nostalgically familiar. I’ll be sure to share more photos from my next visit. Additionally, I must mention that the prices are very reasonable, and every item we ordered surpassed our expectations. 4. **Remarkable Flavor:** Each dish was beautifully plated, and everything arrived promptly at the perfect temperature. The flavors were exceptional—every sauce, from the chipotle ranch to the Caesar dressing, was rich and delicious without being overwhelming. The appetizers, particularly the mozzarella sticks, were downright heavenly, and every salad tasted crisp and fresh. My main dish was one of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had in the suburbs, loaded with generous toppings from cheeses to fresh vegetables, and the seasoning on the breading was spot-on. I even enjoyed the leftovers the next day, which speaks volumes for a veggie flatbread. I couldn’t help but dive into the generous serving of Oreo ice cream before snapping a photo (you can see the spoon marks!). In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend enhancing your next dining experience by visiting this remarkable restaurant. Anyways, you’ve truly earned a special place in my heart—thank you for a genuinely delightful experience!"

"Sad, not the same Oak Tavern of just a few years ago. 17 August, noon. Long wait for a black and blue burger and a grilled cheese sandwich. We were in there before the others, but our waiter told us the kitchen was backed up. Waitress brought a cheese burger instead of the grilled cheese sandwich, apologized and said she'd bring one right out. My burger was not freshly cooked, was overcooked, and totally dry. When I asked if they forgot the blue cheese, she told me they always used blue cheese dressing. I told her years ago they used real blue cheese. By the time I finished, the grilled cheese sandwich had still not been brought out, so we asked for it to be carry out. The picture is tells the story (tried one bite)."

"This place has a dive bar vibe, so don’t expect a warm atmosphere. The regulars tend to keep to themselves, though there are a few who might stir up some trouble. The beer selection is lacking for downtown East Greenwich, mostly featuring major domestic brands like Budweiser, Miller, and Coors at $4 each. Food options are limited to a few microwavable snacks and chips. Generally, the bar is quite empty. They offer free pool, pay-to-play air hockey, and keno, but the jukebox will only play music if someone puts money in it. The restroom features an old-fashioned trough. It’s open all day and has been around since before my grandfather was in elementary school. Some establishments keep going, even if they’re a bit worn down."
