"Fairly small place, but even though they were short on help at that time, the lady working (the only one in front) was phenomenal. She handled everything without showing stress. Food was awesome. Onion Rings were like from home Chipolte Black Bean Burger was the best I have ever had. My husband's sandwich was excellent. We will definitely keep that on our radar whenever we are in the area. Vegetarian options: I try to do vegetarian as much as I can and I had a hard time until I say the Chipotle Black bean burger."

"Was told this was the best steakhouse in Alton Illinois. So we gave it a shot. Children got a kids cheese pizza, and for $6 each the quantity and quality was pretty good, 5/5. Wife and grandmother got the shrimp scampi, both said it was kinda bland, but itis just a garlic butter sauce so I can see that. Shrimp was kinda light for the shrimp to pasta ratio, but enough pasta for twothat was for sure, 4/5. I had the 6oz pepper loin with loaded baked tater. Potato was great in size, pepper loin might of been alight 6oz but plenty in flavor. Ordered a med got med well. Now the reason for the only 4stars. Noticed on ticket, we were upcharged for things that were supposed to be included like strawberry vinaigrette, $4upcharge but was supposed to be included.And a 2.75% credit card fee. Kinda odd. I run my own business and don’t have to charge cc fees to cover just odd. Especiallywith no notice. Atmosphere is nice, but after 6pm seems to get rather loud, couldn’t hear the person two seats to my leftwithout them yelling. Overall, wed give it another go, just withdraw cash first."

"I ordered chicken pad Thai but was served flat noodles with ketchup instead. The dish was supposed to be dry but was actually wet and sugary. The owner rudely kicked me out and touched me with his dirty hands, insisting I look at the picture in the window. I saw that the pad Thai pictured was dry and tasty, unlike the one he served me. He also made inappropriate comments about my ethnicity. I told him that if he didn't know how to make a proper pad Thai, he shouldn't advertise it. Overall, the experience was uncivilized and disappointing."

"Unfortunately we will no longer be eating here. On Monday 8/12 we stopped in to have dinner not the best service but it happens, but food was great as always. This has always been our go to family restaurant….not anymore! My husband went used the men’s restroom a guy came in that was from the kitchen, used the urinal after he was done NEVER washed his hands went right back to work. We were done eating when my husband went to pay he asked to see the manager, he explained what he just witnessed, how utterly disgusted we were that we will not be back! He was on his way to go see who in the kitchen was responsible but then got a phone call. We don’t know if he ever addressed this in the kitchen because we left while he was on the phone. I’m not one to post stuff like this but I feel it should be put out there. With everything that was pounded into our heads when Covid hit Im surprised at this."

"Had to leave one star because I couldn't leave zero. The place had the worst food I've had in a long time. I got the appetizer platter and I could have gotten frozen food from food lion better tasting then that. The whole platter came out 5 minutes after I ordered it and everything was Luke warm. The cheese sticks weren't cooked all the way( cheese not melted) the jalapeño poppers were nasty. I ordered a small house salad and my platter made it out first. Never received silverware and had to eat with my hands. I asked three time for it before using my hands. My son had the pizza and it had a weird taste. This place is just as bad as Brothers Italian. Please don't WASTE you money."

"I had a disappointing experience at Mitchell's, with a long wait and a refund on my food. However, I decided to try the fish and chips at the restaurant across the street. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service - I received my order in just 15 minutes. Not only did I get the same amount of food and dessert, but I also saved $10 compared to what I would have paid at Mitchell's. The quality of the meal was excellent as well."

"Excellent experience. Mike's catered an event for us and everyone was delighted with the quality and quantity of the food. The delivery was on time and everything tasted fresh. There was so much food that we didn't even notice that we were missing a tray of fruit. Unbeknownst to us, Mike realized the oversight and went back to the restaurant to retrieve it. We appreciated the extra miles, literally, he put into it to make sure we were happy."

"Last night, I tried the Steak and Cheese sub at Rosa's during the Friday Food Critic night. I ordered it loaded with double meat, double cheese, and fries. The sub was really awesome, almost deserving of 5 stars. However, the double meat was a bit much, creating a messy eating experience. The only thing preventing a 5-star rating was the lack of Hoagie Spread at the restaurant, as it is essential for a proper steak and cheese sandwich. The crinkle cut fries were not a favorite, and the quality of the meat was average. Despite this, I would still order it again as it is the best option on this side of Richmond. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and the staff is friendly. Overall, it was a good experience, although not quite reaching a true 5-star steak and cheese standard."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. "Visited this great sports bar on Monday at the end of the lunch break. I was surprised how busy it was, but the owner told me that business was normal, or even a bit on the light side for a Monday, the least busy day of the week. Impressive! Note that at the time when I was passing most pictures the rush was over. The place is quite large and able to accommodate large groups with ease. Many big TVs. I heard that local TV stations often visit during the football season. This place would be on my short list to see a Viking game. You have an arcade style playroom with a TV, table and a few chairs so if you muse the kids and keep an eye on them, they are all set. I ordered bar food a chicken sandwich and pommes. And a beer. I was slightly disappointed that my favorite local beer Surly Furious was not available, was recently enjoyed in favor of Bell’s Two Hearted. The food was good: chicken was well cooked, moist and tender, and a generous part to boot. The Pommes were as I like them with the deep frit gently and seasonal. I discussed the menu with the owner and he mentioned that their pasta dishes were particularly good. I'll come back to dinner and give them a try. COVID: The staff wore all masks, and at one point I saw the owner gently wear a customer for not his mask while he went."

"I do not recommend ordering the deep dish pizza at this restaurant. I usually enjoy the traditional crust pizza at Mr. Pizza, but decided to try the deep dish based on the recommendation of the young lady who took my order. Unfortunately, I found it to be more like a frozen pizza from a grocery store. I have had better pizza from a D'Giorno box. When I called to express my disappointment, I was told that the restaurant was closed. I stated that I was not looking for a replacement that night, as I understood they were short-staffed, but simply wanted to voice my dissatisfaction with the pizza I had paid good money for. The person I spoke to seemed to think I was angry or hostile, even though I tried to assure them otherwise. I believe that at this point, a manager should have stepped in to offer some form of customer service gesture or service recovery. However, the manager I spoke to seemed more concerned with my tone of voice than my complaint. My disappointment was not only with the pizza, but also with the lack of interest the manager showed in retaining me as a customer. I will not be returning to this restaurant, as there are better pizza options available nearby. I have given one star only because the person who handed me my pizza was friendly."
