"We were so looking forward to the Counter being open again. Imagine our surprise that quality has dropped dramatically. First, the new process is to be seated by a hostess, complete your burger menu at the table, and bring it up to the register, where you place the order, and pay including a required tip. Normally I would be tipping except we received zero service. It was not clear if you wanted refills whether you needed to go back to the counter, or if someone would come around. No one came around, not even to ask how the food was. As to the food, my grilled red onions were gray, and had an acrid taste. Not really burnt, but just awful. My medium rare burger was well done. The had onion strings crammed together so much that they were a greasy brick that was mostly inedible. I hope the Counter will take heed and return to table service, and improve the quality of their meals."
