"A true hidden gem in the beach cities! The rolls and fish are clean and fresh, making for a delightful meal. If you're not a fan of sushi slathered in spicy mayo, this is definitely the place for you (though they do offer dishes with spicy mayo if you enjoy that). The atmosphere is always calming and enjoyable. The servers and what I believe to be the owner are attentive and friendly, adding to the experience. It's perfect for a date night, family outing, or just a quick bite. There's really nothing else in the area that compares!"

"My husband and I had some difficulty locating this restaurant since it's hidden away in a business complex. We ordered several rolls, including spicy tuna crispy rice, YTJ, Shiso special, tuna shishito, Rainbow, 911, pressed toro, Marilyn monroll, and naked salmon. For our anniversary dinner, we spent over $200 but were let down by the average quality of the sushi. Despite my adventurous taste in sushi, I've had much better at lower prices elsewhere. Additionally, the lack of ambiance in the outdoor dining area at night was disappointing. The service was good, with friendly staff recommending popular dishes, but overall, we won’t be coming back to this restaurant."

"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"Incredible experience. Trying this place for the first time we were only disappointed that we haven’t been here sooner. The food was excellent, the fish was fresh and every dish was so flavorful. Try the kaiseki menu. Every dish was perfect. The staff are very attentive and make sure each customer has a great experience. The owner stopped by and chatted with us. It was really nice to learn the history of the restaurant and see how passionate he is about the food and his customers. Highly recommend! A true Westwood neighborhood gem."

"Literally, the perfect night out and now my favorite sushi place. I flew into the Bay to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday, and after canceling and rebooking so many different places, I settled on trying this one. And WOW. I could not be happier that I did. Quite literally my new favorite place even if it is an hour drive from me. The ambience is cozy and comfortable, yet still fancy. The food was absolutely delicious; we got a couple rolls, the Power Ball appetizer (SO GOOD), a couple of the Walu Nigiri and a 5 nigiri taster. Everything was so fresh and delicious and just writing this makes me want to go back!!! The waitresses were so kind and helpful and the chefs were polite too. Overall, this…this place really helped make my special night with my girl even more special. She agreed it was the best place we’ve been too (and we’ve tried quite a few places) and so if you’re thinking about booking this place go for it!!! Cons: Miso soup was eh, music was a tad loud depending on song Pros: Literally everything else. I never write reviews or comments but I had to share with this place, 11/10 would recommend!"

"Seabutter is a regular spot for us. My husband and I go there weekly- on date night, with family and friends. The food is always the highest quality and tastiest but what makes even more of a difference is the service, specifically Yuki’s. She is always smiling and with positive spirits, greets us with literally open arms and makes THE BEST item recommendations. If or when you go to Seabutter, definitely ask for Yuki as your server. We keep coming back because of her!"

"My friend and I ordered gyoza for the appetizer and beef and chicken sukiyaki nabemono for the entrée. The fried gyoza was very soggy instead of crispy. It was also extra salty. The sukiyaki comes with a bowl of white rice, which feels unnecessary because nabemono already includes vermicelli noodles (not a complaint but an observation). The soup is sweet. I have never had sweet stew before, so I was excited to try it, but now I know that it's not for me. My friend got the chicken sukiyaki, and she thought it was decent.The place was packed, so we were seated at the bar. There are garages in the area and surprisingly they were all free so we parked in one of the garages."
