"As for the food, it was subpar. The marinara sauce tasted like thick ketchup and lacked any real flavor. It's hard to believe this is the only Italian restaurant where you leave still feeling hungry. The portion sizes made me feel like I had ordered from a children's menu. When I requested some hot giardiniera, he brought out just two tiny portions and asked if I wanted both. I insisted that I needed both. I also asked for Italian dressing but received balsamic instead. I was too hungry to wait for him to come back, and it felt like he would take his time. I ended up eating, but I could have had better food at an Olive Garden in Kentucky. My date ordered a seafood salad that was quite perplexing; I didn't realize celery was considered seafood. Her salad was mostly celery with a few thawed calamari rings. When I mentioned to the waiter that they seemed frozen, he assured me they were fresh and made to order. He misled us. They were clearly previously frozen, quickly thawed, and tossed in oil with a lot of celery. My date has never sent back a meal, but this was the first time I saw her refuse one. The calamari looked like it had "GOODYEAR" stamped on it. There is nothing that would convince me to return to this place. The food and service were both terrible. This establishment should be closed down. If you want a good meal, head to The Rainbow Cafe across the street. This place was just awful."

"The staff greeted us warmly, and we were seated right away. Service was excellent—attentive yet unobtrusive. Our meal began with complimentary fresh bread served with a delightful mix of olive oil, garlic, and herbs. Since it was our first visit, we decided to explore some appetizers. We ordered the calamari and the fried cheese with zucchini. The calamari was plentiful and came drizzled in a fantastic white wine butter mushroom sauce. We even ordered a second basket of bread to savor the remaining sauce! The fried cheese and zucchini were served piping hot, accompanied by marinara and ranch dressing for dipping. Both appetizers were fantastic! For our main courses, we shared the Shrimp Portofino, Redfish Portofino, and Veal Marsala. All dishes arrived hot, the portion sizes were generous, and both the fish and veal were incredibly fresh. They were skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a bottle of Justin Cabernet with our meal, which was a great deal at half price for bottles of wine on Wednesdays! To cap off our dining experience, we chose the Basque-style cheesecake for dessert, topped with candied pecans, hot honey, and bourbon sauce. It was the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful meal. In a word, the overall dining experience was... stupendous! (That's Italian for amazing!) Although we chose to dine in the main area, we took a moment to check out the bar section on our way out. It looked well organized and inviting, and we’re eager to try it next time. I highly recommend Toscano—make sure to visit the next time you're in the Cedar Park, TX area!"
