"We love this restaurant! The food and service are excellent. It's one of our favorite places to eat. The service is top-notch, the atmosphere is great, and the prices are very reasonable. "I tried to call in an order, but when someone answered the phone and said "hola," they just placed it down on the counter. I waited several minutes, but no one picked it back up. So, I decided to drive in and place my order at the bar while enjoying a margarita. Unfortunately, it took much longer than expected. I noticed several tables that arrived after me received their food before my order was ready. The food was good, as always, but the service was definitely lacking."

"El nopal is a super popular and rapidly growing Mexican food establishment spread throughout the Lousiville area and it surrounding cities. This particular location is off Preston Highway in a shopping center where hillview is right before the bullitt county borderline. As mentioned el nopal has grown to so many locations that I can't possibly count them all. However this hillview location is one of the originals. It has at least been here for 20 years. I can remember when my wife and I was teenagers working retail nearby. On paydays we would cash our checks and go to this el nopal practically every Friday. As years passed by we haven't frequented this establishment as much. While it is still close to our parents and our kids schooling their are other el nopals closer to our residence. But we still do come from time to time For nostalgic reasons. We recently had them reserve the back room for over 40 people when we got my youngest and 5th born daughter baptized. They were easy to work with and were very prepared. Honestly the least stress I've ever been when reserving a big party room. They did great. For the food me and my family like most Lousiville families love us some El nopal. There is a reason this place has gotten so many local locations. To me they have the best complimentary red salsa and chips out there. Always Fresh and always tasty. Me personally my go to meal is the enchilada supremas which is 5 different type of enchiladas. I always throw a curve ball and order all 5 of mine with cheese and just red sauce and cheese on top. I'm picky but it's good. Plus life hack. Once all the enchiladas are gone you have a huge plate of queso cheese left that you can then use the complementary chips on. You're welcome! My wife has sampled the menu much more than me as has my oldest daughter. They love everything they have tasted here. I'd say the menu is traditional Mexican. So if your favorite Mexican establishment has a meal than el nopal Probably does as well. Overall great local franchise with tasty food and this is a nice location. The location has always been nostalgic for me because we've been here so many times and for so many years but I was completely impressed and blown away of how well they handled our large party reservation. Great job to all workers and staff!"

"well they are now joining other establishments and adding a fee, which they call a checkout fee to the bill. this equates to 3.5% of the bill. we have always been faithful customers and are there with our group at least once a month, but this new feature turns us off. never had a problem with your increased prices and wouldn 't have a problem if you began charging for the chips, it 's the principal that you are isolating one variable business expense and passing it off to the client. good luck! not coming back"

"Was there during lunch ordered 2 beef fajitas dinners. When the check came they charged us full price. Don't appreciate the lowness in this act. I read on Facebook they had pulled some sneaky stuff with other people but I guess I needed to learn for myself. I will make sure my friends and family are aware. My dining partner was a four year old so to be charged dinner prices at lunch hours was a pricey meal for two! My last trip here for sure and this is not a jab at the woman who took our drink order or the guy who delivered the food to the table cause it was good. The old man was not very personable, pretty sure he was the ticket figurer."

"Sometimes, it pays to go in to a place without looking at the reviews. La Pinata is one such place. A co-worker and I ventured off of High Street in search of a lunch place. After my masterful parallel parking in front of La Pinata, we went in for what turned out to be a fairly pleasant surprise. Pros: Ample parking around the area. Ample seating inside the restaurant. Very cheap food less than $7 for a plate of Arroz con Pollo). Cheap seafood $5 +tax for shrimp and fish tacos). Huge menu Freshly made salsa with chips free, of course) Cons: Not gourmet for sure. Service can be slow due to staffing issues, though it was fast on our visit. All in all, don't come in here expecting Tex-Mex on the level of Nada. Instead, La Pinata is on par with most Tex-Mex places. But altogether, I think this restaurant definitely deserves to be much higher than the 1.5 stars it receives so far."

"The food was okay as far as taste. This is the only Mexican resturant I 've been to thats been stingy with the meat. I got i steak fajita nacho and it was full of onion and peppers that were extra crunch(pretty much still raw) but i had to search for my steak. The cheese is very watery on the nacho. I don 't think they drain the meat or peppers first before adding them to your plate.I also had 2 margaritas. They were good. Very sweet but extremely weak. It taste the same as drinking the margarita mix by itself. When we first arrived there were only maybe 4 to 5 parties in the whole resturant. The host tried to sit us at a dirty table with the seat full of food debris( there had to be 20plus clean tables). When I asked her to clean it she just stared so I asked her could we just sit at the clean table behind it. She threw her hands up with frustration and said sit wherever you want I dont even care anymore and walked off. A man came out right after that and delt with us the rest of the time and he was a phenomenal waiter."

"The food and atmosphere were fantastic, but our waiter took a long time to attend to us. We were there for nearly 2 and a half hours. Not all experiences seemed to be the same, as the table next to us received their food and drinks quite quickly. Overall, I would rate this place 4 stars for service but 5 stars for the food! It was a very enjoyable experience."

"We love the food here and have always had good service there. But, recently we went there for my birthday and my husband told them it was my birthday. We knew that they would sing and make me wear a sombrero (which I wasn't happy about, but whatever). When they finished singing, one of the male employees smashed whipped cream in my face. I was absolutely mortified. I called and talked to a manager the next week and he confirmed that yes, they do this and that he would tell them not to. But, I wasn't really convinced that he would. He also never apologized. We will not be back to this location."

"If I could give this place more stars I would! The food was fantastic and so was the service! Our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Our food came fast too. The menu is huge, tons of options, and lots of very authentic Mexican dishes. Looks like they have some great lunch specials. The prices are great for the portion size. "I've visited multiple locations, but this one stood out. The side portions were significantly larger, and the service was quick, friendly, and attentive. However, the carnitas were dry and lacked seasoning. I suspect the fast service was influenced by the time of day I went, but I believe the lack of freshness was more a result of the kitchen staff's carelessness. Overall, the service was excellent, the prices reasonable, but management should keep a closer eye on the kitchen."

"Excellent food and service. Price for portion is great. Tried a taco combo plate which was more than plenty. Each taco was filled nicely. Beans and rice accompanied the dish. Asked for grilled jalapeños and onions. A good portion came out when Iexpected much less. Did not want it to go to waste. Also asked if they had a ?hotter? salsa. Let me tell you that hot salsaneeds a little caution flag : . Area is busy and parking might be an issue at busier times. Staff is polite and ready toaccommodate some asks. An excellent Mexican food establishment."

"This restaurant has great potential, but it really needs better staffing. There was just one waitress handling both hosting and serving, alongside one person managing the cash register. We waited 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. When my food finally arrived, it was lukewarm, which I suspect was due to understaffing rather than the cooks' performance. While the flavors were enjoyable, I don't think I'll be coming back again due to the management issues. Cost per person: $10–20."

"Possibly the best Tex Mex in Buffalo. No, it 's not 'authentic ' Mexican I don 't even know if that exists in Buffalo, but for cheap and cheerful Tex Mex, you could do a lot worse than El Palenque. I 've been coming here almost since they 've opened and it 's always filling and delicious. The tacos al carbone, chili relleno, quesadillas, and chimichangas are all wonderful. The queso fundido is also very tasty and garnished with fresh jalapenos a nice touch missing from other places. Very kid friendly and quick service."

"My boyfriend and I used to live on the East side of Green Bay where all the good Mexican food was but recently moved to De Pere and thought we could give this place a try because it's so close to home. Never again. The service was okay, they were fast but all the servers looked like they hated working there. I ordered the enchiladas suizas which is usually a safe dish for me and I didn't know if I had COVID or something because there was absolutely no flavor. Both the salsa on the table and the salsa on my enchiladas where watered down. My boyfriend ordered the burrito, Taco and enchilada combo and when he received it ...it was a hard shell taco like the one from Taco Bell. But at least the ones from Taco Bell have flavor. And the drinks. My to go to is a Long Island iced tea and it was horrible. They couldn't even make that right. The only thing that was good was the frozen lemonade that my boyfriend got. We finished the food because we don't like wasting and it was pricey for the quality of food. Nothing hurts more then spending money on bad food."
