"My husband and I used to come here to eat years ago. We always loved it. Never had any complaints. Service was fast. Wait staff were excellent and friendly. Food was amazing. Today we ordered take out to celebrate my husbands 4 th anniversary of his lung transplant. The food was amazing as usual. We were told it would take 30 minutes. When I got there the food was already packed and ready to go and it was less than 30 minutes. We can't believe how much food we got for such a reasonable price. . The hamburgers have to be one of the best if not the best. The nachos were amazing. Can't say enough of this place. If you haven't been here, go see for yourself. "The service and restaurant ambiance are quite pleasant, and it wasn't too crowded at 7 PM, especially at the bar. The beer is served cold. However, the seafood fajitas were just okay; there wasn't much protein for the price, with more vegetables than shrimp, scallops, and calamari—only about three pieces of each. The dish lacked a strong flavor. I'll consider trying other entrees in the future, especially if management takes these reviews into account."

"I called Mark back to explain the situation, and he said he would contact them. A few minutes later, he called me back to let me know that they couldn’t send someone since my order had been canceled, and I would need to reorder without the Gatorade. I went ahead and did that. Eventually, the driver arrived to pick up my order about 30 minutes after the pizza was ready. When I opened the box at my hotel, my stuffed deep dish pizza was still steaming hot. Thank you, Mark, for going above and beyond to turn a frustrating situation into a positive experience!"

"I genuinely love this restaurant! I've tried over 30 dishes from the menu, and I've always been impressed. The staff is extremely friendly, and I've known the owner for more than 15 years without any problems. I highly recommend the tortas, horchatas, and the steak with shrimp. Also, they serve the freshest guacamole in the Midwest—it’s made fresh right in front of you!"

"The food here is absolutely delicious! The home fries are spot on, and the service is incredibly friendly and attentive. I ordered the Capri scramble, and it was the ideal breakfast I didn't even know I was missing. There are plenty of vegetarian options available. I can't wait to come back as soon as possible, and the portion sizes are generous—definitely enough for two meals. For those who are vegetarian, there are so many tasty dishes to choose from. As for parking, there's free parking available in the back, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible with a ramp by the lot."

"I had an incredible experience as a visitor. The sushi rolls were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Our order came out promptly, and our server was both helpful and friendly. The prices were quite reasonable as well. The atmosphere was peaceful, with soft jazz playing in the background, and there were no long wait times. The restaurant was impressively clean throughout. "The Eggplant Parmesan Dinner is absolutely delicious and quite filling. It includes a salad and bread with the order. The Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce is also very satisfying, made with fresh, homemade ingredients. Again, a salad and bread accompany the meal. The Cheese Quesadilla is substantial enough to be considered a full meal rather than just an appetizer, and it's served with sour cream and salsa. We truly enjoy our meals from this restaurant and are regular customers. The food is well-packaged for delivery as well."

"I should have known to leave when I saw that the restaurant was empty at 1 pm on a Friday. However, the service was good and the waitress was friendly. I decided to order breakfast for lunch. The pancakes and eggs were tasty, but the hashbrowns were bland and the corned beef hash on the side was unrecognizable and disgusting. I would not recommend trying their breakfast options."

"The food was delicious. We had 2 appetizers chicken quesadilla and the fried calamari. Both were wonderful. My girlfriend had steak shrimp fajitas, also great. And the value was outstanding, because it seemed like pre pandemic prices and quantity. Our waiter and the attending staff were very attentive and accommodating superior service. The only negative was my date's drink a weak mojito. I had pineapple/coconut lemonade delicious!"

"I had a terrible experience with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the Fried Perch Entrée, expecting it to be golden brown as advertised on the menu, but what I received was a burnt brown color, complete with blackened edges. I also ordered French Onion Soup, which was surprisingly black in color and tasted burnt, as if it had been left on the stove for too long. The flavor was predominantly burnt, with only a hint of onion. This was a takeout order in the evening, and when I tried to return the food the next day, the management refused to issue a refund. Instead, they offered to remake my order. However, when I received the replacement, it looked exactly like the one I had returned, with all the same issues. Having lived in Hyde Park for 25 years and visited Mellow Yellow multiple times over the years (except during the pandemic), I regret to say that after this recent experience, I will not be returning."

"Nice family restaurant. Prices are fair, the atmosphere is similar to a Big Boys but a little fancier. This was a good pick for having little kids in tow. My 8 year old enjoyed his stuffed pancakes, my 2 year old loved the grilled cheese and enjoyed our carrots and bread basket. I ordered the broasted chicken thinking it was like roasted and healthy, but it's battered and fried, which was still delicious! My meal even came with dessert, settled on the strawberry shortcake, yummy. Our waitress was attentive and nice."

"That said, if you’re looking for authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine, you might want to steer clear of the Americanized dishes loaded with yellow cheese and the low-quality tequila that often gets served in margaritas. (If it’s smothered in yellow cheese, it’s not true Mexican food.) We particularly enjoyed their chicken mole and tostadas. While we aren’t fans of overly sweet margaritas, we appreciated that the strawberry margarita made with Patron tequila featured fresh strawberries. We were less impressed with the Oaxacan tamales—they were too dry for our taste, but others might enjoy them. We would definitely consider returning to try more dishes and drinks. Also, they have a happy hour on Thursdays with discounted drinks, which is a nice bonus!"

"This lovely pizzeria is renowned for its thin crust pizza. However, the prices are a bit steep. A 10-inch thin crust pizza with an extra topping and a well-controlled lemon adds up to $16. I wish they offered a buffet option that could make things more affordable. The pizza was tasty, but I might wait a while before returning, unless I have a bigger budget. The bathroom was clean and equipped with a changing table for dads with kids, and the parking lot appeared to be newly paved."

"There's not enough adjectives to describe how amazing the food was tonight. My daughter and I got burgers, omg... Juiciest, tastiest, most delicious burgers we ever had, and my daughter's 15 years old and typically hates everything, so. My son got the16oz prime rib (which cost $16 since it was prime rib night), it was delectable... And felt like we were stealing at that price!But then after dinner we checked out the old arcade to see the new billiard Hall and to our surprise there were darts! What anawesome little hidden gem!!! Will def be coming back every Monday night! Manager was super awesome too, wish I could rememberhis name! Super sweet!"

"The food has always been amazing and the staffs are always above and beyond! We ordered the must try YinYang shrimp for appetizer, Tonkotsu beef ramen, eel avocado rolls and Dragon rolls for dinner today the food was chef's kiss (meaning 10 out of 10! as always???? The staffs take covid19 safety measurements seriously so we feel really safe whenever we dine in here during the pandemic. We have been regular customers and will definitely come back for more delicious food"
