"Avoid this location. If you like being treated like your order is a hassle to the staff, then this might be the location for you. Staff has horrible attitude and the quality of the Double crunch taco I ordered was an absolutely a joke and garbage....They will also charge you for items and not include them with your order. "I was really looking forward to dining here while staying at the hotel, but the experience was quite disappointing. The food was generally awful. I ordered a burrito that was somewhat acceptable, but the nachos were dry and inedible, as the chips were stale and hard as rocks. The southwest Mexican pizza was by far the worst dish – the meat was old and dry, and I had to pick most of it off. The tortilla was dark brown and also hard, while the refried beans were extremely dry and crumbled off the tortilla as we tried to eat it. In the end, nobody was satisfied, so we ended up throwing our food away and going to Sonic instead. It was a terrible experience overall."

"My wife and I eat according to Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn’s “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease.” Essentially everything we eat falls under fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. No oil either existing or added, nothing enriched or processed. To say the least, it’s challenging to go out to eat with an expectation that your restaurant choice can create a compliant meal that you can eat. NAIVE is truly the best place to go whether you have special dietary needs or not. They take your order serious and produce an extraordinary meal with immaculate service. COVID-19 UPDATE: It's been about 8 months since my wife and have been to NAIVE and when we walked in today, I was floored when the wait staff remembered us and remembered precisely how we eat. They really made us feel like they care about us and the way we eat. Additionally, we were very pleased to see adequate social distancing, mandatory masks being enforced and an all out effort to make sure their customers are safe. Every time we visit NAIVE, it keeps getting better. I tried to give 5 stars but the app won't let me. We love you guys."

"Went inside for lunch ordered food for lunch and an order to go I ordered 4 little cups of cheese sauce we ate our lunch luckily we checked our bag the cheese sauce was not in the bag said something to the woman behind the counter she made a smartmouthedcomment told us the Togo order we placed didn't come with the cheese sauce didn't come with what we ordered. So she didn'tinclude the cheese sauce in our order it's 25 cents per cup but since it wasn't part of the items we ordered she wouldn't give(SALE) us the cheese sauce."

"Their shift manager got real short with me for not ?being clear? about wanting a meal instead of just a sandwich. "Honestly, I haven’t been to many bad places and I never write reviews but this was the WORST place I have ever been and the food was ready bad. I had picked to go here with my friend because I saw it had great reviews on google and the food was moderately expensive so I had high expectations and was excited for it, but that was not the case. My friend and I got the tacos with sides. First, the guacamole we were served did not taste very good. I noticed that the cilantro used for it was brown and wilted but it was still in the guac and potentially on some of the tacos too. The rice we got didn’t have fully chopped up corn in it and it had a strange after taste. As for the tacos the one with mushrooms tasted a little strange and I didn’t notice till after the meal I received the wrong taco. I was given some other meat but I had originally ordered the shrimp taco. Our server was also not very attentive to our table and he didn’t seem to care about us so I had to ask for the check from one of the people walking around. Lastly, when we first arrived I had wanted to get a frozen drink. Our server said the frozen drink machine was not working but he could make it in the blender and it would be better. I was hesitant about it but I agreed. He served it in a pineapple which at first looked cool but I quickly found that the pineapple wasn’t ripe at all and it was used for the drink. The drink tasted AWFUL, I’ve never had such a bad drink. I just couldn’t drink it… not to mention it was Why would you make someone a drink with an unripe pineapple? All and all worst experience ever, I had high hopes for this place but was let down and my friend agreed the food wasn’t that good for the money. I will not be coming back again."

"I absolutely love this place; it’s my top favorite restaurant! It's definitely the best Mexican food in Calaveras. Having lived in Southern California for a long time, I can say this place truly compares to what I’m used to. It’s the whole package! The staff is always wonderful, and the prices are reasonable. The torta is fantastic, and everything I’ve tried has been great. The birria? Amazing. The pozole? Incredible. The tamale? Delicious. The tacos, beans, and rice are all excellent. The enchiladas and burritos are fantastic, too! I love their horchata and Jarritos as well. Their salsas are flavorful, the hot carrots mix is a nice touch, and the pickled red onions just add to the experience. The micheladas are really good, too. I can’t wait to try the molcajete and many other dishes; there’s just so much to explore on the menu! I’ve been playing it safe with my choices, but I don't think I’ll ever stop coming here. The consistency is unbeatable, and I’m never disappointed. I've been visiting since college, and I’m not sure if it’s always been the same owners, but the quality has never faltered."

"I ordered a salad from their menu which says mixed greens in the salad…specially asked the gentleman at the register if it has mixed greens and he says yes…when I got home there was no mixed greens…instead iceberg lettuce with the onions, tomatoes, red onions, and carrots and the chicken I had added to it. Mixed greens means you have spinach, kale, etc…why would you use iceberg lettuce it has no nutritional value…romaine lettuce….I was disappointed…no more salads from there…Lavilla only…smh"

"Stopped in on our way to the lake. Pretty disappointed. Food took forever and came out cold. Small portions. Service was OK but it seems the locals get treated far better than an outsider. It seems like the management gets overwhelmed easily with large crowds. If you 're in the area drive a few extra miles south to New Strawn at Robert Lee 's Bar and Grill. There was a smoking volcano and all the cheesy stuff I loved! Now it's gone. The remodeled, it looks like a bro bar now.I don't expect much but our food was so bland. The chips and salsa, salsa is Ragu tomato ****. Super bland. The food arrived and was just as bland. I had a crispy burrito. It was supposed to have Fritos as the menu said, but it was their spice free chili with stale nacho chips they leave on the table. I was super hungry and it was still too gross to finish. R.I.P. P&C, it was a good run."

"Rudy 's is *always* amazing. Have been a fan since the '70s. The decor may change, the restaurant has expanded, locations added, but they 've kept my favorites, and they have not changed (thank you!!! . Our family now lives in the Kansas City area. "This would be a 1 star review if it wasn't for Don, and I haven't even eaten the food yet. Don accepted my money at the window and handed me my food. He was polite, friendly and is doing a great job. The other employee, Blake or Blaze or something, was the most miserable person I've encountered in a while. He clearly hates talking to customers, and I can assure you his customers hate talking to him. He is giving service industry workers like Don (who are the majority) a bad name."

"I’m really happy we chose to stay in the Tierra Contenta area because we discovered Puerto Peñasco. The service was outstanding, the food was exceptional, and the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere and was very well-kept. On the owner's recommendation, Ruben, I tried the Filete Marinero Relleno, and it was spot on and delicious. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. "Dos Amigos ' food, cleanliness, and service is 5-star worthy! The woman who helped answer may vegan-option questions was so pleasant and patient. The woman preparing the food even peeked around the partition in support of our conversation. They were accommodating while also guiding my selections to ensure I had the best experience, which we did! The food was so good! The mushroom quesadilla with Daiya was excellent! I don 't always enjoy Daiya 'cheeze ', but this was so delish! The rice bean burrito and the tortilla chips guac were great, too. Something I especially appreciated was the staff 's attention to not touching anything but the food while wearing their gloves. We 'll definitely be going back for more!"

"I've been coming here since I was a kid and still visit from time to time. I went for brunch today and I hate to give lower ratings but the service was sooo bad. There are new waiters and it took them over 20 minutes to make our drinks yet we were the only group there for some time. They rarely even checked on us. The brunch is an hour unlimited drinks and with the way they were moving, you'd be lucky to get two drinks for your hour. They were friendly though, just not attentive.I ordered the huevos rancheros and asked for my eggs to be well done. The waiter must of forgot to mention it and my eggs came runny. I do appreciate them remaking it but I hate to waste food smh. My food was delicious but I do believe they have a new chef as well. As for the drinks ... let's just say you'd need more than one drink to feel a buzz. Definitely missing the old Elora's. $25 brunch with 1 hour unlimited drinks is a steal though, I'd give them that."

"This place was fantastic! It looks nondescript on the outside, but don’t let that fool you. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff member at the counter. She accommodated my food allergies and helped me pick a dish that worked for me. We ordered enchiladas and tacos. Both were excellent! Everything tasted homemade. I loved the pickled onions on the enchiladas. Their salsa bar was super fresh! Tomatillo salsa was especially delicious. The whole staff was very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!"
