"Okay friends, judging by the pictures they allowed me to take of their carne asada plate, there carnitas plate, and a couple of plates some folks that were eating there allowed me to take pictures of, taquitos, and something due to my age I forgot the name of.Including the deliciousness of my huevos a la Mexicana, and how delicious the other plates looked, and the reasonable prices you can check for yourself on the menus I sent.I think I can safely say there aren't too many people that won't enjoy this 6 months new restaurant.But don't believe me check it out for yourselves, one block east of Van Buren on magnolia... Be there or be square ?I think I'm going to bring my wife here later ? this very well could be my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Riverside... Be advised I am a fan of hole in the wall restaurants, thus the three star atmosphere.Though it is very clean and the restroom is quite sanitary"

"We've been going to NL for a long while. I think the best thing about them is their unique flavor on certain dishes for an overall american-mex menu. Highlights for me are their steak and cheese enchiladas because their enchilada sauce for those two specifically is uniquely yummy. Likewise their pork tacos come with a unique salsa verde and really good. I love that they've opened up their tequila and margarita menu, but their lime juice used in skinny margaritas is astringent, odd testing, and unbearable these days... Updated on 11/24... Still true... Unfortunately they also use regardless of tequila selection now. Really horrendous. Only option on margaritas is their mix which leans sweet."

"This place had flies and cockroaches in their restaurant when I was eating. Is it too much to get an exterminator? How have these people passed a health inspection? The server wasn't horrible, but she came off as rude to me, and impatient. I had the urge to scream at her, but I have the patience of a saint, so I kinda had to deal with her. The food tasted terrible, and it is much worse than other Mexican restaurants I've been too. You can get street tacos for a better deal, and better food than what this place has to offer. Avoid this place, and go somewhere better everybody."

"The service here is excellent—attentive without being overbearing. I really appreciate the authentic menu options and the freshness of the ingredients. The restaurant is conveniently situated in a shopping area filled with a variety of stores, which is a plus. Parking is always easy, and there's ample space for trucks and trailers as well. The family that operates this restaurant is welcoming and eager to help if you're unsure about what to order, even featuring a family recipe on the menu. We've enjoyed both takeout and dining in, and both experiences have been great. Although the dining area has a limited number of tables, we always found a spot to enjoy our meal. "While I didn’t try anything else from the menu, the menudo was absolutely fantastic! Available only on weekends, it was packed with generous portions of tripe and very tender pig feet. The broth wasn’t overly salty, unlike most menudo I’ve tried elsewhere, and it wasn’t thick or greasy either. The highlight of my meal, however, was Teresa’s service. She was incredibly patient with my limited Spanish and even guided me to different chili options when she discovered I love spicy food. This place is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys menudo!"

"I was really hopeful that El Tezcal would deliver on some amazing Mexican food based on the reviews. Had to get carry-out since we had our dog with us. Service was friendly and fast. I was torn between a 3 star and 4 star. The good aspects was the friendly service and the bistec a la mexicana had a nice flavour. But beyond that the misses for us were: the tacos were bland and lacked flavour. Also, it really ruins a meal when you get home and they mess up the order. Instead of Al Pastor taco they made them chicken tacos. I also asked for no beans and just rice. Since I ordered at the counter and they repeated my order, it wasn’t communication issues. It would have been ok if the taco was good but the chicken was dry."

"The first taco was al pastor, and it was terrible—the worst I’ve ever had. The meat was tough and exceedingly greasy; I’m sure they scraped the bottom of the container to serve it. We couldn’t eat it. The second taco was birria, and oh my God, it was the driest birria I've ever encountered. We couldn’t eat that one either. The third taco was cochinita, which was decent, and we were able to eat that one. I know I should have gone back immediately to show the manager the terrible pastor and birria we received, but I was so upset, especially since I was starving and that’s what we got? I didn’t want to be rude or cause a scene out of frustration, so I threw the food away and I will NEVER EVER go to any Chando's Tacos again!"

"I hardly ever write reviews, but maybe this place can turn itself around before it’s too late? I ordered a “Carne Asada” burrito and “fish burrito”.. the Carne Asada is the typical “carne asada” meat used here in Flagstaff. It looks like ground beef taco meat, and the taste is nothing like true carne asada… why call it carne asada when you are using the same type of junk meat everyone else is using here at other restaurants, and the same exact seasoning on it.. (try other taco places around if you don’t believe) As for the “fish” burrito…. This looked and tasted just like a burned fish stick inside a tortilla. This is the first time I’ve ever had this place, but unfortunately I probably won’t again until they change the quality of food…. The rice was REALLY good however and I am not a rice eater…. Please use this comment for constructive criticism and use better meats, especially if we are paying a lot of money for the food… quality of the food brings back customers, especially ones that eat out a lot… Giving this a two star, only because the rice was really good…"

"The RAMEN WITH 2 QUESABIRRIAS is a great deal. The ramen was packed with meat. I added the onion and cilantro that came with the quesabirria tacos to the ramen, but having a little extra just for the ramen would have been ideal. The CHIPS AND SALSA come in a generous portion, and the salsa is a delicious salsa verde with a hint of red mixed in; it's my new favorite. Everything was served hot, and even the chips were still warm."

"I was driving around the area looking for a restaurant that was open. Don Cuco was open and my girlfriend and I went to try it out. The owner was very kind and courteous. I could tell he had a good connection with his customers the way they both talked to each other. Very family friendly atmosphere. I had the Birria Plate and my girlfriend had the Chile Relleno Plate. The food was incredible. The birria was very soft and flavorful. I don't know what they put in those beans, but they were amazingly good. The tortillas were made by hand and just enveloped all the ingredients so well. My girlfriend enjoyed her meal as well, along with the Orchata. Overall, the food was delicious. The price was just right. The staff was very kind and respectful to everyone in the restaurant. I would recommend you give it a try. You will find something that you will like."

"Funny story. I live a few blocks up and never noticed the place as it is in a residential area. There was a delivery issue with a package and it ended up going to the restaurant instead of my building. They were so kind to hold it for me and not send it back to ups! Anyhow I finally decided to order some take out. Love to support a local business. I got a few things to try nachos with chorizo. Delicious. Mexican enchilida. V good.
