"Drive-through speaker was broken so we were told to pull up to the window. The lady who took our order didn’t know any English, she just kept repeating Spanish sentences. It was so hard to order with the language barrier. She had to get the line cook to come to the window to verify the order was correct, and we just got a simple quesadilla and a burrito. The food tasted okay, we ordered carne Asada so thats all I can vouch on. Boyfriend said the sour cream tasted off. After reading the reviews, I’m a little scared for how tomorrow is going to go. I will say the sauce is very good, but not worth the risk for unsanitary environments, and mid food. Oh, also to add the receipt total for a quesadilla and a burrito was $27.28…… I recommend going somewhere else"

"First, we had been to this restaurant a few times before and liked it enough to return. Four of us had dinner. We had reservations, but had to wait over minutes to be seated anyway The Scanned menu access did not work well and the paper copy of the menu was difficult to read. The dinner selections were very limited, compared to what they used to offer. (Maybe that is a result of all this Covid craziness) The place is a tequila bar, but they offered no tequila menu. All we got was a menu of the current drink specials Two of the dinners we ordered came out hot and tasty. Two were just OK. I had the Burrito Guapo which was large and tasted fine, but overall it was a bit dry. It needed a sauce on it or accompaniment. None of the dinners came with much in the way of sides such as rice and beans or even some lettuce and sour cream. My burrito had four small plantain slices on the plate Service left a lot to be desired. We almost never saw our server. We had to keep getting the attention of other wait staff to ask them for refills on drinks. In the end, the food was acceptable and the atmosphere is fun, but the overall experience was just so-so."

"Overall service for a non busy weekday lunch was pretty bad. Slow service one person got there first , had drink. Other two in party arrived, ordered drinks waited at least 10 minutes. Asked for water for table as well, they brought 1 water. Asked for another round for table, they brought 2 beers vs three. Ordered appetizers, took very long, brought 2 plates for 3 guests. Flies everywhere on patio asked for fan to be turned on to aid took a long time to even do that. I usually like Gonzas the food was ok, overshadowed by not so great service. May not go back so soon."

"Very cool, hip Mexican/Colombian restaurant and bar in a large space with outdoor seating when weather permits. This was my first visit to Gonnza but I would definitely return the next time I am in the area. Besides the Durham location there are 4 other locations as well in North Raleigh, Downtown Raleigh, Wake Forest and Gary. Food and drinks we ordered were very good and the service was fine too. We had arrived early about 5:30 pm on a weeknight and there were many open tables, but by 6 pm the place was getting packed. I would recommend a reservation if you plan on going later than 5 or 5:30ish."

"I ordered the burrito el guapo sans huh, it came with fried plantains. I also tried a few fajitas of my sister. to dessert I had the talega del platano. first the chips and salsa were decent. nothing spectacular, but you could say that it was fresh. I ordered some guacamole to try it with the chips, but I was disappointed that it was only moderate, especially for the price they charged for a small bowl. the burrito was really good! it did not taste like everything I had before, and it was at a reasonable temperature (a little it was hot and then gradually on the perfect warm temperature, as its meal continues. the fried plantains tasted like fried plantains, they either like the taste or they don't. I personally love them, so they were very attractive. the sweet in the fajitas was cooked with some spices that were great. I don't really know how to describe it, but it was very tasteful and even a bite gave a burst taste in my mouth. the dessert (talega del platano was nothing short of wonderful. it was a fried tortilla with the sides up (to make a kind of bag with some sweet pink filling inside next to a screedy egg. this dessert is definitiw one must for everyone with a sweet tooth. overall the chips and salsa and guacamole were average, but the actual eating and dessert were good-worthy their price tag."

"the host didn't recognize us when we got in. she helped another party, and it took longer than it should have been. When she was done, she didn't look at us. I finally had to apologize and tell her that we had to stop. After we had set ourselves, it took a long time for a waiter to come to us. Someone who looks like the manager asked us if we had been helped and make sure we get help right away. the appetizer of coconut carp was great! it was disappointing, however, that there were only four garnels, so that they each had $2.50. the rest of the fee was only average. not great."

"Kind of interesting place to eat. Service was a little meh. Server did ok, but just was kind of off/odd? Maybe it was an off night? Not real smooth, almost like they were distracted or everyone was new. They have a nice thick queso dip for the chips anda very flavorful stone ground salsa. Serving sizes were ok, though some seemed a little light. The Callo de Hacha Tacos had verytender and succulent scallops chopped and mixed with cubed pork belly. Though the scallops were well prepared, the pork wastough and not as flavorful. I would have expected the belly to be almost the same consistency as the scallops, but no. TheCamaron had very well prepared fried shrimp with a nice spicy chipotle sauce though the cilantro was a little heavy. TheMexican Flag was quite interesting. Was not expecting the Mexican cream to be as sweet as it was, but it was a pretty goodcompliment to the tomatillo sauce. This dish was pretty good and decent serving size. I really liked the Tortilla Soup that wasone of the side dishes. It is a nice creamy shredded chicken soup with great flavor that was robust but not overly spicy. It wasprobably one of the highlights of my meal."

"The seafood fajitas were pretty good! My husband claimed his tacos dorados, which come with complementary nopales (cactus), were also tasty, devouring them completely! My daughter wasn’t too fond of her torta cubana, but I suspect someone else would have enjoyed it plenty (she’s a picky eater). Anyway, the restaurant has karaoke on the weekends- perhaps also on the weekdays (I’m not familiar with the restaurants events). I was very pleased with this night’s entertainer (see video attached). He had a great voice! The servers and manager, who personally asked my table if everything was fine, all had great hospitality, took care of us from the moment we entered until we departed! The restaurant dining area and restrooms were all squeaky clean and culturally decorated. Give this restaurant a shot!"
