"We were seated immediately upon arriving. Wait staff showed up quickly and were generally available throughout the meal. Drinks/openers were very good--not spectacular. Cucciolo light vodka/grapefruit/Aperol and Negroni were lovely. Fiori di Zucca were filled with a fluffy cheese and fried in a light tempura batter. Duck prosciutto was good better than what I make at home, but not that much better . Cheese plate was legit--we got a gorgonzola dolce, a soft goat cheese from Sardegna, Reggiano and Pecorino Romano. Terroni's strength is pasta and the portions are abundant. I had Tonarelli a thin chitarra noodle alla Norcina $32 and my wife had the cuttlefish ink chitarra with crab 30 , and both were excellent. The Norcina came with a generous topping of very aromatic black truffle slices, and it was the best thing our table ordered. We had pizzas instead of secondi and they were a sad disappointment. The sauce and toppings were actually really good and well done. The pizza was nicely sized not like the piddly mini-pizzas of Mozz@ . But the crust--the foundation of the pizza--was mediocre at best. Offhand I'd say the water content was too low and the salt content way too high in the dough. After one bite I did not want more. I wonder what the point is of having pizza on the menu when it's not going to be able to match the level of your other offerings. It was a long drive to come up from Orange County. With the closure of Ortica we have been looking for a go-to restaurant for Italian pizza. Terroni is not it. I would come back here for a meal but I'd steer a wide berth around the pizzas."
