"We went here for the first time, and it will most likely be our last. The first problem was, there were about ten tables in use, and ours was the only table that didn't have a screaming child sitting at it. So it was loud. I did like the live music, though. Ordered the shrimp bento box. Shrimp were hard, tempura was tasteless and soggy, wontons not cooked all the way through. The fried rice was very good. I tried a bite of my husband's steak and spit it out, as it felt like it had already been chewed by someone else. The wait staff were good, and the bar looked like it was lively, but I wouldn't come here for food again."

"An interesting twist was when the chef who came to our grilling area resembled the host who had seated us. I asked if they were brothers, and to my surprise, the host was actually our chef! It turned into a delightful hibachi experience filled with great food and laughter. Most meals come with two shrimp, along with rice, noodles, soup, and vegetables. After the meal, the chef returned and revealed that he was not only the host but also the owner of the restaurant. He recognized how overwhelmed his staff was, understood customer impatience, and stepped in to ensure everything went smoothly. If you're hesitant about trying this restaurant due to negative reviews, I urge you to reconsider. Give it a shot or even a second chance, keeping in mind that the entire restaurant industry is currently facing challenges with staffing, wait times, and overall reviews."

"Wow. I was uncertain considering my previous sushi experiences in the mid west. I thought for sure the best could only be found in Seattle or LA. I couldn't have been more mistaken. First, I noticed no Himachi kama on the menu, to which I inquired to ourwonderful server Lacy. She quickly checked and they offer different cuts. I'll say in all of the places I've visited thisHimachi Kama was the best. They way it was cut was a major game changer for me. Next came the main event. I ordered Mackerel,Salmon, and Blue and Yellow fin. All were delicious, and plated with care. (You can always tell the difference when you're foodis prepared with love) Next came my Blue fin Toro, and Sable fish accompanied by Uni and Ikura w Quail Egg. These cuts wereexceptional! The proprietor came by and talked shop with us for a moment. Realizing we were all food lovers, she brought over atruffled ponzu that was on point for the Sable. The rice had that perfect taste with the right texture and when I say the fishwas some of the best I've had, it's no understatement. If you are in need of proper sushi indulgences, this is the spot for you.The dining room is quaint but cozy,and the sushi bar looked like a good bit of fun. They also offer private traditional diningupon reservation. Pro Tip: The menu doesn't tell the whole story."

"After looking at the reviews, I thought it would be a nice spot to grab a late lunch. As I entered I realized that the restaurant was attached to a hotel. It didn't deter me at first, but as I got through my meal it did became a source of echoing chatter as people entered and exited. The waiting staff were nice and on task. My water glass was never empty, they checked on me throughout the meal, and were prompt in getting my bill at the end. As for the food, I got their Vietnamese Roll as a starter. Nothing to write home about and were overfilled with lettuce. For my main meal I enjoyed their Pad See Eiw. It was right on for spice, and hit the spot. Noodles were cooked nice and the veggies were fresh, but sadly the meat was tough. Overall, I'd say this spot is average. If you need a quick bit it will do the job, but I would look deeper if looking for a great Thai Spot."

"We brought our grandkids here because we had such a great time on our previous visit. Unfortunately, this time was quite different. Our chef prepared our meal without any entertainment, which was a letdown. The portions were also smaller than what we remembered from before. Meanwhile, the chef at the table across from us was putting on a great show. Ours, however, was lackluster and disappointing. On top of that, the service was poor. We were really looking forward to sharing a fun experience with our grandchildren, but it fell short of our expectations."

"Food was wonderful and worth any sort of negativity. We came on Valentine's weekend with no reservations. So we waited about 20-25 minutes. Once they did seat up, it was in the very back by the kitchen. Once seated, we did wait a little bit to getdrinks, and our food ordered. Once again, short staff, new staff, or it being abnormally busy... That's our fault. The chef whocame to our grill area looked an awful lot like the host who seated us. So I asked if he and the host were brothers. Long storyshort, the host was our chef! It was a fantastic habatchi experience. Great food with laughter. "Truly amazing, All omakaze are so tasty, yet delicate. This location are always busy which is good thing for them! So Reservation is recommended. The service also go along with food quality. Nice and friendly. The timing between each dish during busy time might take around 10-15min. We complete the whole set and total spend time there around 3hr. It’s a nice gathering with friend, family or coworker to have conversation during special dinner."

"Honestly the best quality sushi you will find in Berkeley, and that is saying a lot. Sure they don't have a super glamorous and fancy interior, but if that is a factor in your decision making process for where to go to get sushi, then you need to sort out your priorities. To top off the quality of the sushi is the price, again far superior to most places in Berkeley. The only place that nearly matches the quality and price (but is not quite as good on the quality end of things) would be Manpuku over in Elmwood. Comparing with yelp reviews will never lead you to this conclusion, and it has seriously caused me to lose faith entirely in that rating service. I seriously cannot imagine why this place wouldn't have a 5 star rating other than it doesn't have a super fancy interior, which as I've already said should be irrelevant. Service is amazing here too, you will never go more than 2 minutes without being attended to if need be."
