"The appetizers and the main courses were all excellent. In particular the teriyaki salmon was among the best prepared salmon I have ever had. The presentation of the dishes is beautifully done. Service could have been a bit more attentive. Count on having to valet park as self parking is virtually impossible. Although I had an open table confirmed reservation the host did not have it on her sheet. It was not a problem as they had available tables however, if you go through the trouble of making the reservation it should make it to the restaurant."

"we take grandkids to wasabi in Mt P a couple times a year. They go to the nine in DI a lot so they know the menu. Last time we were there we had a great meal and experience. This time it was a total different story. My husband ordered hot black tea and the waitress returned and told us they were all out of black tea. Apparently, ownership has changed and they are working through supply issues. So she encouraged green tea and when it came, it was disgusting. Unlike any green tea I’ve ever seen. m I ordered an Asian pear salad with grilled shrimp. The kids had bento boxes and my husband had pad Thai. when we got our meals, mine was missing. The waitress said they accidentally gave my meal to somebody else but that they would fix me another one. So by the time everybody else was done with their meal my dinner arrived. I told her to put it in a to go bag and i would take it home. Of course they took it off the menu. In terms of the quality of the food, my husband‘s pad Thai was dry and not very tasty. the California rolls were very heavy rice and very little avocado. The only meal that was really good was my grandson’s teriyaki chicken. We did have an excellent shrimp appetizer. The waitress did her best but it’s hard to cover up kitchen mistakes although she tried as did the GM. So tonight I decided to eat my Asian pear salad and when I opened it up, I realized there were no pears and it was not an Asian pear salad. It was a salad with onions. Really disappointing. We will not go back anytime soon."

"We also ordered grilled edamame for $9.50, a red dragon roll for $12.50, and a combination roll for nearly $30. "So this could have been a 5 Star Yelp review. But downgrading due to the lack of service on a Friday night. I blame management, and in this case, it could just be a family owned and run business. We only had to wait 10minutes to get a table so that was good. However, the hostess taking our order was so flustered as she was the only one that was taking orders with a packed house! There were two other boys that were either cleaning the tables and seating people but not sure if they were trained to take orders. We had two friends join us spur of the moment that evening so we had a great time. No rush by the restaurant to move on. We stayed there for over 1.5hours. Not really because we wanted to, but it seemed it took a very long time to make the sushi rolls. And we had to keep tracking down our hostess to get some of the items that we ordered. So now for the good stuff. The taste of almost every roll was phenomenal. The only one I didn't like was the Slow Burn Roll, which had an interesting texture to it and no burn to it. But the other rolls and the Sashimi platter were excellent. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was to die for! One of the few places that I have been to that actually serve this. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the rolls on the menu. Total bill for 4 people ended up around $170 including 2 beers and hot tea. We were not even asked if we wanted dessert nor did we want to stay any longer. But it was great to watch the Warriors game that was on while we ate. A very cozy restaurant and the locals know this has great food. I hope the owners take note of this and at least get someone else who can wait tables."

"This restaurant is really close to my house, and it serves excellent Japanese food. Every time we choose to dine here, we order the Choice of 3 Bento, which I feel is a fantastic deal! For $21, we get a generous portion of main protein and a small miso soup. When we're in the mood for sushi, we highly recommend the Hamachi Lover—it's consistently a great choice! My family is Japanese, and my father is a tough critic when it comes to Japanese cuisine, often saying that nothing compares to his mother's cooking. However, he gives this place a big thumbs up! Other dishes worth trying include the grilled squid (Ika), which is soft, buttery, and paired with a delightful sauce."

"Sousaku Bistro is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Malden. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh. My go-to is the pork broth soup with pork belly and ramen. The pork buns are really juicy and the shrimp toast is my favorite app on the menu. The staff is super attentive they give great service. Whenever I went in with my young daughter, they would be accommodating about putting us in a booth and giving her a plastic cup with a straw so she'd make less of a mess. Definitely visit this restaurant if you can."

"I wrote this review before and for some reason it was deleted. It 's not fake and Yelp should contact me if they have questions. I ordered takeout to be picked up at 12:45. When I arrived, there was a sign outside the door saying to call for pick up. I called and got what sounded like a fax machine. I call again and a man answers. He tells me he 's in the alleyway and can I wait 10 -15 min. I tell him I 'm at the door now and that I 'm on my lunch break. He says Oh. and that he 'll be right there. I 'm waiting out in the cold. A half hour later he drives up. I 'm wondering to myself, If you were in the alley, why are are you driving up here? He goes in to get my food and hands it to me. He apologizes and runs off. Before I get a chance to ask him about a fork, he 's hurrying off to his car and driving off. The food wasn 't kept warm and was cold. Plus the portion was small. So, I wasted my lunch break for cold food. There was no compensation offered. Yelp, please email me if you have questions. It was a very weird experience. I don 't think I would risk it again. I"

"My girlfriend and I came here for happy hour after work. We are both clearly minorities. We greeted the bartender with smiles and asked her how she was doing. We didn’t receive a kind response. The bartender instantly treated us as if we were an annoyance and burden to her. Everyone else at the bar was not a minority and she was so kind and welcoming to all of them and treated them so well the entire time we were. She smiled at them and asked them how they were doing and went out of her way to care for them. When it came to us, she served people who came after us and had us wait a long time before she even asked us what we would like to drink. The bartender was short with us and acted in a manner as if we were causing her so much trouble by being there. She approached everyone else to ask for their food and drink orders. She just hollered across the bar to ask what we wanted. I never expected to be treated like this especially when the horrible treatment was only towards the minorities at the bar. This behavior was appalling and I’m truly saddened and disturbed that the minorities were treated differently and with such disrespect"

"There was only one party here when we arrived at 6PM on a Sunday and they had just finished so we had the place all to ourselves. I love the design-Japanese modern. There is metered street parking available, but you don't have to pay on Sundays.We looked at the menu via the QR code and were not prompted to create a profile. You can order online, but our waiter actually took our order which we appreciated. He was very nice and welcoming from the moment we stepped foot inside. I started off with the Ahi Tuna Poke which came with wonton chips. The chips were slightly too oily, and there weren't enough. I finished the chips with about 3 spoonfuls of poke left. The texture of the poke pairs so well with the chips though and the sauce is very flavorful. (A bit too salty once you get to the bottom)The dragon roll had great quality. I didn't need to dip it into shoyu as the sauce was enough. The best part of this was the ginger. I was amazed at how fresh and crunchy it was. No wonder it's offered as its own side dish on the menu!The shoyu ramen comes with thinner noodles than traditional ramen, but they were perfectly cooked. This was my favorite dish."
