A sushi roll made with fresh yellowtail and green onions, offering a perfect blend of mild fish flavor and zesty onion.

"The service was terrible. I went to support a local non-profit that was collaborating with Crave. When I arrived and explained my purpose, the hostess had no idea about the non-profit, and didn't seat us in the area where others from the non-profit were located. I waited 10 minutes before someone told me my server was overwhelmed, but would be with me shortly. After discovering where the others were seated and moving tables, I received a different server, whom we had to flag down to take our order. I next saw my server when he gave me the bill. The restaurant was only about 60% full, and most of the people were at the bar, so it wasn't terribly busy. In order for a percentage of my bill to go to the non-profit, I had to order from a special menu, where the prices were extremely high and when compared to similar items on the regular menu, it was obvious that the prices had been increased. The food was sub-par and overpriced. I've tasted better sushi at half the price. Overall, my experience was lacking and I don't anticipate going back."

"The only reason Yama Izakaya Sushi is receiving 2 stars is because we enjoyed their Omurice, everything else was horrible. We showed up around 1:05 they said they did last call already but they will allow us to order togo. Sure everyone was hungry so we went ahead ordered: 3 omurice 2 yellowtail belly 2 seared foie gras 1 double pleasure roll 1 three of a kind roll 1 mopu tofu soup The first thing we all tried was the omurice- which isn?t authentic but it was still good. The tofu soup was just OK. The downfall was the entire sushi order. We unfortunately ate the foie gras before taking the picture it was incredibly dry burnt! $8/one piece you would expect it to be juicy. The yellowtail belly tasted like a regular cut of yellowtail lacked the softness flavor of a typical belly. The rolls were terrible, the green (wasabi? sauce tasted like straight wasabi, and as you can see in the picture one roll is drowned in it. Overall the food was horrible we did not finish it. $105 in the trash, we should have done a more reliable late night meal like IHOP or Whataburger. UPDATE: 2 of us have food poisoning symptoms now. We will be calling the establishment in the morning."

"not like the place is bad overall, but from a vegan perspective it is nothing. 1. the most (not to say the only) visible Veggie option was a Bento box and it was not good. 2. more about it coming with miso suppe. weird. 3. and speak of the rolling a lot of luck through 3 pages of rolling to find 2 or 3 veg options randomly mixed. not even close to HappyCow policy."

"May 2022 update: In light of recent food safety incidents (which have been publicly documented), my previous experience at this restaurant now makes perfect sense. Avoid the poorly prepared fish here to prevent food poisoning. Good luck if you decide to take the risk! Original review from November 2021: I ordered sushi from Soseki twice and it was decent. However, when I picked it up again recently, the quality of the fish was terrible. It was tough and seemed to be of low quality, poorly stored, or not fresh. I didn't feel well after eating it and was worried I might get food poisoning, but thankfully that didn't happen. We will not be returning to Soseki."

"I wanted to like this place so badly. It is very cute and stylish with modern decor and upbeat music, but unfortunately this is about the only positive. It was recently opened, and based on the previously stellar reviews we had very high hopes! My friend and I went on a Thursday night at 6:00 just in time for Happy Hour, this is 3 7PM. Every time we go to Sushi, we always start with veggie tempura, and I must say from all the veggie tempura dishes I have consumed from countless places over the years, I was never more disappointed... My first bite was a big piece of sweet potato. It was cut very thick and thus it was cooked, hard and raw. My next bite was zucchini, which was also cut thick, but had the opposite effect, and can best be described as mushy. The broccoli was the only veggie that was boiled properly, but something went wrong with the dough... it was lifeless without crumbling, just so tender. To supplement injuries, the immersing sauce that came with it was completely tasteless. No saltiness or taste... basically brown water. Next we ordered a California Roll and a Philly Roll. The California Roll was just fine. It's hard to fool me, but I definitely had better. But the Philly was terrible, which I think is a pretty basic role. The salmon had a rough color on it and was hard to chew. It had a gummy consistency and did not taste fresh at all. After my first bite, I pulled a fish scale out of my mouth. I had lost my appetite pretty much, but I left anyway because I didn't want to waste food. We basically had to separate each piece and select the bits of bad-looking salmon. In the role there were also visible blue pieces of avocado. The service was good, but not the most attentive. I never got a refill on my water, the dishes were not deleted until after our departure, and the waiter didn't care how the food was. It also took 10 minutes to get the bill with our credit card. This was after I had stacked the dishes for them and had moved them to the edge of the table to make it obvious that we were ready to go. Overall no good experience. We had also planned to order a special role, but after we were disappointed in two basic roles, it was not important to take the risk."

"I didn't know this place was kaiten (conveyor) sushi, so that might help gauge expectations better. I ordered through Uber Eats and was overwhelmed with the variety of choices, which is both good and bad they tailor to what you might crave but then they don't seem to really specialize in anything if they're offering everything, you know? I didn't get sushi this round and was satisfied with my order, but nothing really stood out. Chicken Karaage some inconsistency as a few pieces were better than others. It's a super light fried chicken karaage where there's no real crunch, it's relatively soft and not crispy. Pro or con depending on your preference. The chicken was inconsistent as some were super juicy yet others a tad bit dry. I appreciated that they attached salt and pepper for me to customize. I do wish they included spicy mayo rather than regular mayo, as that's more standard for chicken karaage. I'd probably keep this at a 3/5 item. Salmon Chips I haven't had these before and have seen them around. They're pretty good, not sure if it's specifically this location or all salmon skin chips as I don't have anything to compare to. They're pretty fatty and a great source of omega 3s with a beautiful crunch to them. I'd give this a 5/5. Pork Tonkatsu Bento Disappointing. Salad was normal, edamame was normal, but bland because of it as it didn't come with salt or anything. Got four pieces. Rice is normal as well, can't go wrong with that. The most disappointing part was the focus of this item the pork. It was super dry and not that crispy. Stiff to bite because it was so dry. Katsu sauce helped a bit, but it was way too salty and soy saucey. At first, it felt promising as I tried the sauce and it was super viscous but then the taste let me down. I've seen a lot of watery katsu sauces which I don't like but they tasted great."

"I’ve visited this restaurant a few times, and I really enjoy both the service and the food. I initially came here in the late afternoon when most places in the area were closed for their breaks and wouldn’t reopen until the evening. I discovered this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did—the food was delicious. However, what truly stands out is the exceptional service."

"Good sushi here. My husband was happy with his seafood soup. I miss when they used to have small portions of sushi on the little sushi boats. It's pricey but sushi usually is. I was a bit disappointed in the small glass (small pour in a regular size glass) of Chardonnay but I suppose that isnt the end of the world. Overall this is a good place to eat and it's where I go when I am craving sushi. They have an all you can eat Korean BBQ next door that is connected. It is good also. UPDATE. They recently started the sushi boats again M-F. The sushi boats are little portions and u pay according to the color of the plate. The little boats go around the sushi bar. It's super cute."

"Love Senro Sushi!!! I went there to meet a friend of mine that I hadn 't seen in some time and it was the perfect place to meet at. It wasn 't too crowded, we were able to talk and catch up actually hear one another, yet the other guests were still far enough to not be bothered by us. At least I didn 't think that they were annoyed by us.. haha. Aside from that our server was extremely efficient, she didn 't waste anytime. Their actual service on their food was exceptionally quick as well. This server didn 't miss anything boy and if she was in the back doing something else her partner was right there behind her to pick up the slack. And I can genuinely say she didn 't miss a beat either!! Oh 2 more minor things that I feel are rather big bonuses. Is that there was plenty of parking and it 's right in the rear entrance where you walk in at. So you could ultimately see your car from sitting inside the restaurant if you wanted to. ...The only downfall or negative I would mention about Senro is that their parking lot is a bit dark. There is not much lighting out there at all. And, there really isn 't a lot of light walking into the restaurant either. So, if you aren 't familiar w the place..it could be a lil intimidating and discouraging. But, just follow the lights inside and you 'll be good. And you 'll be happy that you did. You won 't be disappointed. And, this very last tid bit...is that they are very reasonably priced. I mean you do have to remember that you are in Pleasanton. So if you are aware of that and take that into consideration...then you should be perfectly fine and not have any problems. They have a wide variety of many different types of rolls, specials, etc. I 'm pretty sure that you will enjoy your dinner experience here and you most certainly won 't be disappointed! Or I at least hope not! At the very least hopefully you get to have a good roll or two. Cheers!? ????? Vegetarian options: It 's a sushi restaurant so you can order fish and rolls to your particular liking. So, it 's a great place for vegetarians to dine at. Parking: Plenty of parking for Senro Sushi customers to park. The only thing is it is a lil dark in their parking lot. So just remember that when exiting the car. Othereise you should be fine in the parking dept."

"Excellent restaurant for takeout! Ordered through DoorDash with their pickup option, and the food was nicely packaged and prepared, and very fresh. Everything was tasty, and my only issue was that because everything was placed inside one bag, the hot items and cooked sushi that is meant to be served hot was placed in a box near some of the other sushi that was meant to be served cold, causing it to be not quite as cold as I like it. It didn?t affect the taste, it just wasn?t as refreshing as I would have preferred, which given that it was 115° outside, was the whole reason I chose to get sushi that day in the first place. However, they were also swamped with To Go orders being one of the few restaurants that was actually open that day, so I wouldn?t really hold this against them because it happened one time. It was probably just an accidental oversight. Other than that one small issue, I was very pleased and would definitely recommend."

"I tried Yumz twice. Once for carryout, and once for the all you can eat sushi dine in. The carryout was OK, I got salmon nigiri, salmon roll and a sweet potato roll. The rolls were decent, the nigiri was better. The rice has no flavor (ie no vinegar as typical sushi rice has . This could be a good thing for some, but I prefer vinegar and flavor on rice for sushi. I was also given fake soy sauce packets with the sushi (the colored salt water packets from Chinese takeout , luckily I always have the real stuff at home. The all you can eat was not as good. The nigiri had very small cuts of fish (think 1/3 regular size and a limit on nigiri. There was way too much rice on the rolls, and not enough fish. For the price, I would not recommend the all you can eat option. They do have a lot of appetizers, which adds to the value the gyoza were good. Overall, I probably won't go back due to mediocre rolls and rice."

"Pretty good sushi. I ordered online and the order was ready when we arrived. The order estimated time was accurate, taking only 20 minutes. I got the fried oyster appetizer and a few sushi pieces. The oyster appetizer does come with the sauce on the oysters. I recommend asking for the sauce on the side or eating them ASAP! The torched salmon with mayo was my favorite of them. The others I got were hamachi nigiri and torched scallop with mayo. I got their super white tuna or escolar sashimi to try. I wish the pieces were cut a little differently as they were very thick and cube like. I'll come back in the future to try other items!"

"My wife and I eat at this restaurant once a month for our Japanese food fix. The food is very authentic (I have lived in Japan) and the prices are almost too good compared to most Japanese restaurants in the area. However, the food quality and presentation are better than some higher priced competitors."
"From my personal experience at Fuji Sushi, I had a mixed impression. The regular roll was satisfactory, but the special roll did not meet my expectations, especially considering its high price. However, I did appreciate the good selection of beverages, particularly the old fashioned drink. One of the downsides of my visit was the small size of the restaurant, which contributed to the persistent smell of smoke in the air. The open kitchen design, while visually appealing, also added to the smell of smoke. This unpleasant odor may have detracted from the overall dining experience for some customers.Overall, my visit to Fuji Sushi had its positives, such as the regular roll and the good selection of drinks. However, the high cost of the special roll, combined with the small size of the restaurant and the persistent smell of smoke, may have taken away from the overall experience."
"Located in the heart of the city, this cozy restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating and serves Korean cuisine and sushi. While I originally intended to try the Korean BBQ, I ended up choosing the sushi instead. The menu is extensive, with options ranging from appetizers and salads to sushi, sashimi, main courses, soups, stews, soft tofu, and mixed rice dishes. The prices are a bit higher than other places I've visited, but the food is fresh and delicious. It's important to have a clear idea of what you want to order. While I was a bit disappointed in the sashimi for the price, I've had better quality sushi at a more reasonable price elsewhere. I would recommend trying a different Japanese restaurant if you are specifically craving sushi. However, I plan to give the Korean dishes a try on my next visit, as the restaurant is conveniently located near my home."
