"My wife and I stopped by Canal Street Pub for dinner. The beer selection was average compared to other places. We were surprised to find the restaurant wasn’t busy for a Friday night, which raised a few concerns. It felt a bit like we had walked into an episode of Bar Rescue just before Jon Taffer arrives. The service was lackluster, especially given the quiet atmosphere. I received my salad only after I got my entree. When my entree arrived, the chicken was piping hot, but the rice was at room temperature. Both the chicken and the rice were tasty, though. My wife ordered the panini special but instead received a ciabatta sandwich. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it should have been advertised correctly. We were both taken aback by the prices of the meals, which seemed to be a result of supply chain issues, slow business raising prices, or perhaps a combination of both. It has been a couple of years since our last visit to Canal Street Pub, and it looks like it will be a few more before we decide to return."
