"The absolute best breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe that I have ever found. I brought my father and mother in law here for breakfast on a fluke. I was immediately impressed with the way we were greeted. The manager greeted us with a huge smile and quickly placed us on the waiting list. It was an early Thursday Morning and there was already a short wait to be seated. That also let me know right away that the food was really good. Our wait time was shorted than estimated. As we walked through the restaurant I noticed that there were many beautifully plated meals. The smell of vanilla flavored waffles and bacon filled the air. My stomach growled on cue. Once seated our server Petra also greeted us with a very warm smile and offered us coffee. The coffee was delicious and fresh. My father ordered a lemon aide it was made from scratch and we could see the fresh fruit and mint leaves. However, the best was yet to come. The food. The food is the best breakfast food that I have ever had, period. Better than Richard Walkers, Blueberry Hill, or any other restaurant I can name. Both of the other institutions are great, in their own right, but Syrup is even better. IJS. Syrup was so good that I brought my husband back to try it the next day and I was even more impressed the second time. Petra was our server again and I tried a different item of the menu. It was just as good. Now I am going to have to come back and try something new each time: next up chicken and waffles. In sum, when in the St. Charles area, visit Syrup and see if you're not convinced: Syrup is the best ."

"I am marking down 2 stars as their prices do not match the menu. Side of carne asada for build your own stacker is $5.99 on menu, but charged $6.99, side of avocado $1.99, but server said it was $3.99. Then on receipt stacker showed $18.98, but menu $17.99. When I asked server said it included tax, yet tax was also charged at the bottom of the receipt, plus a 4% noon cash fee. Normally I probably wouldn't have noticed, but since what I originally ordered was $6.99+$5.99+$1.99 for a build your own stacker, I was shocked at the $18.98+$6.99 on my receipt. The server was nice, but she and I apparently were not on the same page with ordering. I asked for a build your own stacker with carne asada, sour cream, avocado, and sliced jalapenos. Somehow she thought I wanted the chicken enchilada stacker with chilaquiles. Because we've never been here, I had no clue what it looked like. When the food came I didn't see the carne asada in it nor the jalapenos. I asked the server if this was the carne asada and she said no, but would bring it. Because the meat had been left off, that made me look at the bill. I also asked why there was a side of chili's when I asked for sliced jalapenos, so she said she would remove them and took the plate. What I did eat was mainly chips and sauce with a side of asada and it tasted ok.My husband ordered a Verde Chicken Enchilada, which was good, but he was still hungry after eating. Seated near the server area, the way they stacked clean dishes was pretty loud and he told me it hurt his ears.Music was good, restaurant has plenty of seating and was clean. The server, Maria, was nice and apologetic for the miscommunication. I was expecting to pay $15.99 or so for my meal, but couldn't just pay $18.98+$6.99. I asked to speak to a manager, but the manager was on a phone call meeting with the owners. Maria just took off the $6.99 and I sucked up the rest.We were really looking forward to this place, but probably won't return. If we do, it will probably be at a different location, as I don't think they should be charging more than what is listed on the menu."

"One person in our group ordered the butter and sugar crepe, which was very good. I appreciated its presentation, and the crepe itself was fresh and tasty. It’s also interesting that you can order from the next-door restaurant, Little Kebab, allowing members of your party to order from both Little Crepe and Little Kebab. Two people in our group chose from the kebab menu. The chicken korma was more watered down than we prefer but still tasty; we just like our sauces thicker. The chicken tandoori was also decent, though we expected chicken breast and received chicken legs instead—that was our oversight; we should have asked. We had mixed feelings about the Asiago naan, as it tasted somewhat like crepes with cheese, but some of us enjoyed that, especially when paired with the korma sauce. Overall, I think that if we had avoided the sherry crepe, we would have liked the food more. However, I still have the taste of sherry lingering in my mouth after indulging in plenty of sweets at the restaurant. Another oddity was when we received the check; it came as two separate bills from two different restaurants, making it a bit cumbersome as if we were filling out paperwork for both places. It would have been easier if the bills had been combined into one. Despite the mixed experiences, I believe we’ll return—just not for the sherry crepe or the tandoori chicken; we’ll try something different next time."
