"Judging from the clientele the night we were there, Silvestro's is a popular spot for locals. We were greeted by the owner (as best I could tell) when we arrived. It's a bar with ample tables to meet the needs of a Friday night crowd. We waited a short time, but were seated without reservations. The menu is an attempt at upscale dining with mediocre execution. I tried the Filet Silvestro and my wife tried the Filet Mignon. Both of us had salads and Fettuccine Alfredo with our meals. I paid upcharges for gorgonzola dressing, longastino's, and fettuccine with meal. We both drank water. The pricetag for two of us to eat was $80 before tip. My wife and I both agreed that the food was adequate, but not great. The meat was flavorless, and the cut of meat was inferior to most filets we have eaten. The mushrooms and meat had the flavor of steamed or boiled rather than sauteed or grilled. The longastino's were gritty as though they had sand in them, but the flavor and the bernaise were good. The Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, but bland. I would expect a superior steak at $36+ dollars. Portions are certainly not large, and you are not paying for atmosphere."
