"More like Nope St Pizza. New to the neighborhood and have been trying local places. My wife and I love Mediterranean and pizza so we were eager to try Hope St Pizza. We were profoundly dissatisfied with our experience. The ambiance was probably the only thing we liked. Felt like a neighborhood family owned diner and we liked that a lot. Decor was kind of dated, seats had tears in them covered by duct tape, and the tables and floors were quite dirty. We can get over that though. The food was average. Nothing stood out to us. Not the most extensive offering of Greek or Mediterranean but I guess they do mostly pizza. The service was horrendous. We weren't even greeted by any of the staff. How hard is it to say hello when a guest walks in your store? We sat ourselves (found the cleanest table we could). Waitress didn't introduce herself or say welcome. Just dropped off menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Food took a long time to come out IMO. 45 mins in a half-full restaurant seemed long. Waitress barely checked up on us while we ate. We finished and she just dropped off the check on our table. Didn't say anything. We sat there for 45 minutes and she never came back to check on us. We had to go to the front counter just for them to tell us we had to pay at our table. We went back to our table and the waitress gave my wife attitude about the check. We paid it, left a decent tip and left fuming. Won't be going back anytime soon. Summary: Great location. Dirty. Decent food. Bad service. There are much better options on Hope St."

"I go back and forth, but land on a solid 4 stars for our experience at Giuseppe Sons. We were there in April 2023, and it appeared much of the upstairs and some downstairs was under construction. In the main room, we were greeted by many friendly staff. The large room is loud and dimly lit so be prepared. It was a very confusing mix of people some young high school age kids, some older groups of women, many family dinners, a lot of dates. All probably because this is one of the reasonable Italian restaurants in the city which brings a wide crowd. When we were first sat, we weren’t acknowledged for quite some time, but that aside the overall experience was pleasant and hence the 4.Now the food! Well executed Italian food. They delivered. Something very important They do NOT accept changes to their dishes (I asked to add more protein to a pasta that was on another dish and they would not accommodate), so just be aware of that.If you are hungry and/or have a big party, highly recommend the Chefs tasting menu for $55. Five courses, they portion it out for the table (everyone is required to participate and agree on the five dishes), and it is a substantial amount of food. Worth your money if again you’re really hungry. A la carte is also great. Highly recommend the Sunday gravy as well as the rigatoni alla vodka. The octopus appetizer was more beans and fennel than octopus but the flavor was great for what we had.Solid meal. Well executed. Will be back with the expectations on experience in mind."
