"Myra provided exceptional and friendly service; she was always attentive. The number of TVs on which to watch sporting events was excellent, although the sound was, at times, flawed with echo. The bar is presentable, but has a limited tequila (my personal alcohol of choice) selection. Nonetheless, the beer choices were very good. We returned a Cosmopolitan because it didn 't taste like one. The wings were a good size and well cooked, served hot (although a different server inexplicably insisted we place the bowl of wings on a raised pizza platform that we didn 't want to use). The hot sauce was standard Buffalo, but we also had the suicidal sauce on half of our wings. The enjoyment of hot sauces is, without question, very personal and dependent on the palette of the eater. While the suicidal wings were hot (but not so deadly) and flavorful, I just didn 't like the sauce that much, so next time I would stick with the standard hot, unless there are additional choices by next visit. While we ordered a bucket of wings, the volume of carrots and celery served was significantly less than generous and when we asked for more, the number pieces provided was again stingy. The desserts looked great on the menu, but the portion size served was somewhat smaller than they visually appear on the menu. Having ivied in Buffalo and Rochester, New York, the NYC version of the Anchor Bar has some catching up to do. Yet, it certainly deserves another shot."
