"This place has charm up the wazoo, and the food was amazing. We walked in, and it seriously feels like someone 's living room. We sat ourselves in the back and a friendly waitress with a thick Minnesotan accent brought us some menus and told us the specials. My husband got the beef tips and I got fried fish. Both came with mashed potatoes that were so good we didn 't need gravy, the softest, most delicious plain sliced white bread I 've ever eaten (I don 't even know how you would make homemade Wonder-bread style bread), and a helping of creamed peas that was amazing! And then, there was bread pudding for dessert. Now, just to let you know, I despise bread pudding. I actually ate about half of it before I decided I was just too full and had to stop. All that food was included in the Specials for $6.50/meal! Service was fast and extremely friendly. Food was amazing. Prices were amazing. The kids fought over each others food, which is crazy because they are pretty picky. Only got the 1 star ding because I realize that most people will expect a slightly less homey atmosphere (read: slightly dingy with dated decor). It 's our first time in the area, but with an imminent move in our future, we 'll definitely be back!"
