"Great value, service, and taste. Bake n' Brew is a place I've passed through and ignored. It's easy to miss this hidden gem. I wouldn't say Bayonne is the place to go for food, but small cozy places like these make you rethink that sentiment. The service was great, the young lady taking our order was courteous, helpful and a pleasure to speak with. She gave us plenty of suggestions and helped us navigate the menu. She was very receptive when changing our order from carry out to dine in which was much appreciated. Overall she was extremely attentive. The omlettes we ordered were were great for the price! 10 bucks for an omelet was perfect for what you get. You won't have a grossly overweight dish, the portions were perfect. The Cuban omelette was a nice variation which complimented well with the ingredients. Food was brought out in a timely fashion and were attended to promptly. The one are where it can be improved would be the iced latte. It won't be the best you've had but it'll do the job. The latte was made just fine I believe what may have been. Lacking were the beans used. Not sure what beans are coming to the party but don't expect to be blown away. Overall this is a hidden gem and a must try. It's a cozy design, although definitely not for groups more than 4 for dining in, but then again its not a restaurant, it's a Café. We will definitely be returning. P.S the quiche looks amazing however their limited to the weekends. Will be returning to try these out."

"We wanted to like this restaurant. It's attractive, and the menu is a little different from standard fare. Disappointment began with the hostess. Our reservation specified a booth. She asked if we wanted a booth or a table, not bothering to read the note. She led us to a booth in the bar which was being cleaned, and, rather than asking if we wanted to wait, led us to a small corner two-top in the corner of the bar. The waiter was fine--when he was there, but was also the bartender, and spent most of his time setting up the bar. The manager, when not talking to one table he apparently knew, stood at the bar talking to the bartender. We both ordered soup, which wasn't bad, although I was served the wrong soup, but since no one asked how it was, I ate it. We had no napkins or silverware--the person delivering the food brought napkins after we asked. Later, the waiter brought silverware. We both had sandwiches. My wife's Fried Green Tomato BLT had minimal bacon, and the basil aioli was so heavy she had to scrape some off. My chicken salad had big chunks of chicken, but not much more--a rare case of Southern food needing more dressing! My wife's fries were coated with salt. When she remarked about it to the waiter as he cleared a plate with two-thirds of them remaining, his response was that they're usually not that heavily salted, period. The manager was apparently too busy to come over after the comment, or at any other point."
