"Very disappointing experience on a slow Friday afternoon. Went for a late lunch with a friend with health and handicap challenges that make it difficult for them to walk. We entered the restaurant and there was no one at the front to seat us, my friend asked me if we could just go in and sit at he first open spot on the bench on the right as you enter the dining room and I accommodated. The waiter came over to take the drink order and my friend offered apologies for not waiting to be seated due to his handicap. The challenges my friend has are very obvious to recognize. The waiter was great and said Don 't worry and took our order. We were having conversation when a woman appeared and loudly said so the restaurant could hear Can you two move over one table, I have a party of eight coming in and we need the space. The woman and I took a few minutes to move my associate over to where the woman wanted us. She told us several times that a party of eight were coming as they had just called the restaurant to say they would be there in moments. There were about 4 other tables with people at the time and the restaurant was not stressed. We enjoyed our meal and paid the bill and left. The party of eight never showed. My suspicion is the woman who had us move is the maître d who does the seating and was annoyed that we could not wait and just sat ourselves and was petty, exerted her authority and was vindictive. That may not have been her intention, it is the impression she left with me and my friend. We are both Commack locals with families who have enjoyed Jacksons many times before. Jacksons is a good restaurant but that experience really was surprising and very disappointing. Too many other choices in Commack where they have treated us better."

"I go back and forth, but land on a solid 4 stars for our experience at Giuseppe Sons. We were there in April 2023, and it appeared much of the upstairs and some downstairs was under construction. In the main room, we were greeted by many friendly staff. The large room is loud and dimly lit so be prepared. It was a very confusing mix of people some young high school age kids, some older groups of women, many family dinners, a lot of dates. All probably because this is one of the reasonable Italian restaurants in the city which brings a wide crowd. When we were first sat, we weren’t acknowledged for quite some time, but that aside the overall experience was pleasant and hence the 4.Now the food! Well executed Italian food. They delivered. Something very important They do NOT accept changes to their dishes (I asked to add more protein to a pasta that was on another dish and they would not accommodate), so just be aware of that.If you are hungry and/or have a big party, highly recommend the Chefs tasting menu for $55. Five courses, they portion it out for the table (everyone is required to participate and agree on the five dishes), and it is a substantial amount of food. Worth your money if again you’re really hungry. A la carte is also great. Highly recommend the Sunday gravy as well as the rigatoni alla vodka. The octopus appetizer was more beans and fennel than octopus but the flavor was great for what we had.Solid meal. Well executed. Will be back with the expectations on experience in mind."
