"Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The meal began with traditional appetizers, like charcuterie and crudos, and then progressed through a variety of small plates, heavier dishes, and meat courses. The first few courses were some of my favorites: the ibérico add-on, pan con tomate with manchego and serrano, delightful cones filled with salmon tartare (this was one of my absolute favorite bites and highly recommended), and a fun liquid olive purée.
Next, we enjoyed lighter small plates: octopus ceviche and endive cups with fresh goat cheese and oranges. Both were refreshing and light, but the octopus stood out as our favorite. After that, we moved on to croquetas, patatas bravas, and stuffed piquillo peppers. Although we always order the croquetas since someone at the table always wants them, I'm not their biggest fan. They tend to be heavy on the creamy béchamel without offering much flavor. While I understand their popularity, they're not my top choice. The patatas bravas were reliably good, a simple dish that's hard to mess up. I also enjoyed the piquillo peppers; they're a classic Spanish tapa found all over Spain. My husband isn't fond of their texture, but I quite like it!
Following this, we sampled mussels, giant prawns, and steak tapas. Unfortunately, the mussels were initially undercooked and many were closed, but the manager quickly resolved this by bringing us fresh ones. The sauce was herbaceous, savory, and delicious—definitely one of my favorite flavors of the night. The head-on prawns were excellent as well, showcasing the freshness of the seafood and beautifully presented. We had previously tried the steak tapa, which was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a perfect medium rare.
For dessert, we had flan. You can't go wrong with flan, and my husband thought this one was especially delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and certainly worth the price. The way the meal is structured makes it more than just dinner; it's a true dining experience. It was a substantial amount of food, but that was ideal for us since we love to sample everything and savor all the different aspects of the menu.
The only aspect that could have improved this experience was the service. It wasn't our server's fault, as she seemed overwhelmed handling tables throughout the restaurant—it was late, and she likely had closing duties. However, we found ourselves having to flag down a manager twice just to place a drink order and had to get up to get help with the mussels. I also had to remind them about my husband's birthday. Although there were plenty of managers around, they didn’t seem to be checking in on the tables or assisting the servers. This was a minor complaint, though, as regardless of the service, we will certainly return."
