"China Blue, owned by the conscientious and ambitious X'ian, who also owns Cafe China in Midtown, is a restaurant striving to introduce authentic Shanghai cuisine to the foodie community in TriBeCa. The space created by X'ian has great potential to become a popular spot for young food enthusiasts, with a long marble bar for enjoying exotic cocktails and an ambiance inspired by old Shanghai decor. Unfortunately, during my visit on a Thursday night, the restaurant was not very busy and the bar was empty, giving off a somewhat desperate vibe. Hopefully, upcoming changes to the menu this spring will attract more patrons to this beautiful space to experience adventurous Asian cuisine."
