"Chic. Coastal. Hip. Upscale. Modern. How do you describe Shore, one of the most popular and exciting new restaurants in Sarasota, Florida? All of the above. Located at 465 John Ringling Boulevard, in fashionable St. Armands Circle, next to the Shore store and the Foxy Lady, Shore is an oceanside diner with modern decor that serves seafood, burgers and salads to a mostly young and vibrant crowd. Take the stone stairs or the elevator to the second floor, open air dining room with a beautiful green wall and patio overlooking the street and a large back patio with retractable roof. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 Friday and Saturday and 10 to 10 on Sunday, Shore serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with free parking behind the restaurant. In busy St. Armands Circle, that's a welcome gift. For lunch, my wife and I started with ciabatta bread and spreads, yellow heirloom tomato soup and lobster, shrimp and crab cobb salad with chicken breast. For her entree, my wife chose a Black Grouper Sandwich, Creole grilled with coleslaw and truffle fries. It's a spinoff from Shore's dinner special, Almond Crusted Black Grouper with blue crag risotto and char-grilled asparagus. For my lunch treat, I opted for a Crispy Springer Mountain Farms chicken sandwich with tomato and provolone cheese, truffle fries and sweet vinegar coleslaw. Shore also has a location at 800 Broadway Street in nearby Longboat Key."

"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."

"I hate to give a place less than 5 stars, which is trying to maintain but really not with the volume. when we checked at 7:00 a.m., they had several reservations from 7:15 to 8:00 or 9:00, so we chose 7:45 and drove past. downtown dadeland was really busy, which is a good thing. there were everywhere about Eats drivers and we were in the position to find parking in the back of the shopping center next door. when we came around 7:40 there were several 4 tables that opened inside, but it was obvious that they were reconciled by several parties of 7 or more. if I knew what I know now, I would have tried somewhere else. overall the place was in order and I suspect that if they weren't ashamed, it would have been better, but they couldn't get up. they sat us quickly, but it was a solid 10 minutes before they order our drinks and another 15 minutes before our drinks. we ordered the prosciutto fig jam flatbread as an appetizer. the pizza was server hot from the many, but it took long enough that I had forgotten for a second that we ordered it. everyone seemed to enjoy the pizza, I found it a little sweet, but this is expected with pizza with a fig jam sauce drizzled on it. for a gut one of my guests had the shrimp scampi garlic butter. it seemed to have a lot of garnel on it and he seemed to enjoy it, but as he is a man with a few words, I can't elaborate. my friend had the roasted spaghetti squash mushroom. she is not vegan, but it has appreciated, and the listed tomatoes were a beautiful surprise. I ended up with the artisan grilled cheese tomaten bisque. Unfortunately, this was not entirely on the way. the tomaten bisque was good, but the grilled cheese was burned and I didn't finish most of it. I'm pretty sure they'd solved the problem if I had asked, but it was now after 9:00 a.m. and I wasn't ready to wait for them to do another. And who knows if I actually caught a waiter. I am not sure if I will try it again"

"We dined here for brunch on Sunday. I made a reservation for 11:15, waited until 11:35 to be sat. After getting sat, a bus boy filled our waters, but we waited for our waitress to bring drinks for 30 minutes. She didn’t walk over to our area once. Once she came over, she said she forgot about us, and apologized. We were understanding, because we were not sat directly in the main dining room. Once she brought drinks, I finished my first mimosa in hopes that when I came back from the buffet, it would be refilled; instead they had bussed and reset our entire table assuming we left, with my purse still sitting in the chair. we then waited another 30 minutes for our server to walk back over. We eventually grabbed the attention of a 3rd staff member to bring our check. After we put our card in the book, we waited another 20 minutes for the server to return with our card and copy of the receipt. I found our server, asked for our card, and we left disappointed. This is a $45/person buffet, I would expect at least some form of hospitality or service. All of the food was cold, we waited in line for eggs benedict to be brought from the kitchen, and it came out ice cold. Absolutely disgusting. I’ve worked fine dining for years and will advise against visiting this establishment from now on.Update: they reached out after receiving this review, and they issued a refund. i am glad that we could resolve the issue.Noteworthy details: horrible service. i’ve never been neglected in a restaurant like this before. you get finer service at a wendy’s."
