"I used to love this place and their food. However the quality has definitely changed, I noticed a decline a few months ago but today was quite disappointing. Paid over $100 for curries that were sour (too much lime) and sweet when we specifically askedand was told it could be made extra spicy. Also had asked for some breads with butter, took 3 attempts for them finally bring itout without butter. Sadly we will not be returning to this restaurant after this."

"We ordered a simple aloo gobi dish from this restaurant and the potatoes were undercooked, while the cauliflower was cut in large chunks and also raw. It was quite unpleasant. The dal and rice were also undercooked, with whole lentils instead of smooth dal. It is disappointing that they were unable to prepare such basic dishes properly. It is frustrating to expect a simple comfort meal after a long day only to be served with a subpar meal. We will not waste our money here again."

"**Samosa: 4.5 stars** I enjoyed two large samosas with a crispy dough exterior and a flavorful vegetable filling. **Chana Masala: 3.5 stars** The chef prepared this dish with the medium spiciness I requested. The chickpeas and spices were very fresh. **Lamb Saag: 3 stars** My husband found this dish just okay. While the lamb and spinach were cooked well, he felt the ginger and garlic could have been more flavorful. To be fair, he did request no spiciness. **Naan: 4 stars** My husband remarked, "I like the bread." The garlic naan and plain naan were well-baked, although they had a bit too much butter on top. **Mango Lassi: 4.5 stars** This drink had a delightfully sweet flavor."

"This restaurant is my go-to spot for Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan, and vegetables. The flavors are incredibly delicious; I wish I could learn how to make them myself. I would even consider working there for free just to pick up some cooking skills! The samosas are generously sized and overflowing with vegetables and flavor. Each dinner plate includes a side of daal soup and mixed vegetables, along with rice and your main dish. The portion sizes are generous, definitely enough for two people to share. Overall, the taste and atmosphere are fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food at a reasonable price. Kudos to the chef!"

"The food was good as was the service. They definitely need to get another bartendar. The lady that came over was very unprofessional. She could not make a martini, and when I tried to tell her, she didn't listen. My grandson ordered an old-fashion. She didn't know how to make that either. Her hair was very long and she kept twitching it about. Not a good idea where food is being served. She made us a moscow mule, and rather than embarassing her, we ordered it. Not a good experience."

"We had a great experience at the new restaurant that has taken over Wild Mirchi. Our group included nine adults and three children, and everyone was delighted with our visit. "My friends and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday after a hike near Lake Tahoe. They were offering a buffet at the time. When I inquired about vegan options, a staff member kindly walked me through each dish that was vegan and even consulted with the chef for some he was unsure about. I was really impressed by his attention to detail! The majority of the dishes were delicious, with the samosas standing out as a highlight. The crust was perfectly flaky, not too hard, and the fillings were incredibly flavorful. Since it was a buffet, I ended up having about 5 samosas. The only downside was the roasted okra, which seemed to be overdone. Towards the end of our meal, the chef came out personally to speak with us and gather our feedback on the food. It turns out she runs the restaurant with her husband, who also works as a waiter. We had a fantastic conversation, and I made sure to mention the issue with the okra. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would love to visit again next time we're in the Tahoe area."

"While staying in the Pittsburgh area a lot over the past year, I've been trying many different places... I love really good Pakistani food, and am not nearly as fond of Indian food, but I came here one night for dinner and absolutely appreciated the owner's service, as well as the food they make here! I tried several things: Vegetable Pakora These unfortunately were sent back because they were slightly over done, but they apologized sincerely for that and removed them from the bill. Vegetable Biryanni Absolutely Excellent! Nice and spicy and loaded with robust, authentic flavors!! This paired with their raita was amazing!!! And wow, was it spicy!! Keema Muttar This was decent, but was a little saucier than I prefer (and than I'm used to). The flavors were excellent! The meat was lamb and there was the slight flavor of that. But overall, it was a decent dish. Bullet Naan I've never heard of this, so I had to try it, especially since it's made with green pepper and supposedly spicy. It was definitely spicy, but their naan was very thin. I actually prefer it thin, so I don't get filled up on bread. The only issues I've got is I eat in the traditional way, with my hands and in order to do so, you fold the naan or roti in half and then break off a piece Well, many of these places cut it into quarters which limits ow you can break off pieces. The other huge gripe I have is that they add ghee or butter to it, thus making it a greasy mess. Aside from those issues, it tasted great. Roti This resembled the bullet naan, but without spices, but with so much greasiness, the last slice was completely soaked and oily. The flavor was decent though. Lastly, He offered me mango lassi and I've not had lassi in probably 35 years, when I was last in Pakistan.... This lassi was very tasty and you could see and taste the fresh mango in it. Overall, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in the Pittsburgh area so far... I've tried several, but they do it the most authentic and best here. I'd definitely suggest it for those seeking some really good, authentic flavors. I'll be back!"

"Indian cuisine and I don’t usually get along. While I appreciate the flavors, my sensitive stomach tends to struggle with the spices typical of Indian food. That’s why I was thrilled to discover Chaat Cafe. It offers Indian dishes that feel somewhat lighter and more Americanized, which suits me perfectly. I really enjoy the paneer wraps—the paneer, with its tofu-like texture, is delightful—and the spicy cucumber salad or potato salad on the side adds a nice touch. Plus, I absolutely love naan, making the wraps an excellent choice for me. However, I find the lamb-stuffed naan a bit disappointing; the lamb is pressed into a thin layer, and I’m not a fan of the taste. Overall, Chaat Cafe is a fantastic spot for someone new to Indian food to explore options beyond the typical Tandoori chicken."

"We came in for lunch on a Saturday, and it was shockingly empty for such a great place. We tried the chicken momos, veg hakka noodles, and chicken Manchurian, all of which were very good. We chose medium spicy, and it will certainly get your nose running, but it was a flavorful spice. Each entree was something like $13 and came with way more food than we expected. We look forward to eating the leftovers!Vegetarian options: There are just as many vegetarian options as meat options on the menu, and from what I saw, there was probably a vegetarian version of everything, so you definitely won't be missing out!"

"The flavors at this restaurant are excellent. However, my mixed meats order was disappointing. The shrimp was way overcooked, the lamb was also overdone with some pieces being chewy and others fine. The chicken masala was good but could use some veggies (onion and green pepper) and a bit more spiciness. I would consider ordering again, but I will stick to the chicken next time as it was very good."

"I recently tried this restaurant after they joined Open Table, and after reading reviews on Yelp since there were not many. I have to say, this Indian food restaurant on Grand Avenue exceeded my expectations. We tried two dishes, and I must warn you, even the medium spice level on the Prawn Karahi was mind-blowing. The shrimp was tender and fresh, and the Madras Chicken was excellent. We also ordered a bottle of wine and left with leftovers that tasted great the next day. The Naan was exceptional, especially the plain one. The ambience was family-friendly and there were a lot of people getting takeout. While the chanting music during dinner was a bit strange, the food was outstanding. The restaurant is reasonably priced with generous portions, although it may not be the most romantic spot. If they had booths instead of big tables with glass tops, it would feel more intimate, but I understand that may not be traditional. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience."

"We made a reservation for a group and had a poor experience. Below are the highlights. Very disappointing and would not recommend!! Pros: -Drinks are excellent! If I were to ever come back it would be for the drinks during happy hour as they are overpriced at regular price -Palak chat was great! Only item of the evening we finished! Cons: -Paneer bullet was extremely bitter. Tasted like poison. We sent this back and they came to apologize as I guess they also sampled it and something was wrong with the paneer. Thankfully they did take this off the bill -Mysore bonda was super oily and also uneatable. I also sent this back but was still charged for it -The did not give us papad. After asking twice they finally brought it out. Was extremely oily as the oil was literally dripping onto my plate -Murgh malai tikka was also disgusting. It looked like a clump of soggy meat rather than tandoor. We did not finish this and left over 70% of it untouched. I also was charged for this. -Entrees of dal makhni, malai kofta and murgh tikka masala were all below average. We left 50% uneaten and did not pack the rest to go. -I ordered a roti with my meal and was given naan instead. When I told the waiter he said I can keep it and he will bring me a roti. He never brought the roti. When it was time for the check I told him the roti never came and he asked if I wanted it at that time. I said no but was still charged for the naan that I never ordered. -Service was below average. While the server was nice, he was very forgetful, had a lackluster attitude and kept forgetting things (papad, my order, onions, etc) -18% gratuity was automatically added. Probably the reason for lackluster service -Bill was $200 and had a overall very poor experience. Nobody seemed to care either. Will not come back."

"I live in livermore and fremont and was used to the shalimar they have here in the bay area. I have seen how disgusting and careless they can be. I saw bugs in the food and I saw worse. but on a Tuesday to karimi restaurant after seen Tik-Tönchen and I decided to give them an attempt. samosa chaat was good, but a little too on the watery side had still good taste, I would personally add more chana and garnish it with cilantro to make it look pretty. the daal yellow lenses was soou good and the huh tikka masala was amazing. as germphobic I love how they have plasticutensils, some places offer only cutlery and I prefer plastic it was a fairly spacious place, they have two bathrooms down in the hall. the bathroom that I would give a 6 10 must be done a deep cleaning. there were turbulent stains and afghan to be, I cooked with dressing, the curcuma have and the spot can actually be on the walls and wash basins. then again their bathrooms were cleaner than some other Indian Pakistani restaurants. this is the only thing that didn't make me give them a five-star, because I have become covid along with other clean freaks. I will come back and hope to make an updated assessment:"
