"We went with high expectations hoping to find a place as good as Brooklyn’s Llama Inn in Manhattan but came out very disappointed. Maybe they were overwhelmed because of Restaurant Week. We had booked a standard dining table for pm which was not available when we got there. At pm they offered us seats at the high tables. When we pointed out that OpenTable lets you select which type of seating you prefer, first they tried to argue that that was not true and then finally moved us to the dining room.Service in the dining room was mediocre. Our water glasses were not refilled, I finished a cocktail with the appetizer and asked to see the wine list to order wine for the rest of the meal, somebody brought the list and the waiter never came to take the wine order. They never took the list or the empty cocktail glass off the table. The dining room was very full and it looked like there was only one waiter available so he clearly could not keep up.The food was OK not great. We ordered ceviche which was bland and crispy dumplings which were good except that the sauce was salty to the point of being inedible. For entrees we ordered the seafood risotto, which was the best dish of the evening, and the arroz con pato, recommended by the waiter and also quite bland and flavorless.The quinoa brownie desserts were entirely forgettable.So we are back to trekking to Brooklyn for great Peruvian food"

"We stopped in for lunch on our drive to tour the coast with the parent in the back seat. This place as great because it offered something for everyone. The sushi was fresh, the tempura was light, the thai was spicy hot as ordered, and the sweet and sour was sweet and sour! All was nicely done, fast, and efficient. Prices were good too"

"I have no issue with the food being served at this restaurant as it was very tasty. However, my concern lies with the cleanliness of the establishment. It does not appear to be well-maintained and the food preparers do not wear gloves. They touch various surfaces, including tables and TVs, which could potentially harbor bacteria before handling the food. With the current variants of COVID-19, I have decided not to dine here again. Although my wife enjoys dining at this restaurant, I will opt to spend my money at other establishments, like El Gordo, where I can personally observe the kitchen and see how the food is prepared."

"Have you ever found yourself thinking about a meal you'd had days after the fact? Something that you had thought was good but not earth shattering at the time, but the more you thought about it, the more you appreciated the little touches that made yourmeal special? El Mono was such a lovely surprise that I couldn't fully comprehend how good it was at the time, and the more I dothink about it, the more I loved what I had and want to go back for more. I stopped at El Mono on a whim because Of been drivingout of SFO and really needed something decent to eat and I was feeling a little jaded about typical dinner fare. I've eatenPeruvian before and it is typically different enough to be interesting, so I headed over to El Mono. I split half a chickenalong with a number of sides and tried both of the two aguas frescas that they had. The drinks were sweet without being cloying.They also paired incredibly well with every dish that I had, and each dish paired well together too. I forgot to take picturesof everything that I had, but I could go on for quite some time talking about how much I loved my meal. It was a great time."

"I am compelled to write this review because even though I am not Peruvian, I grew up eating authentic Peruvian cuisine. This place is a hidden gem, I have been to many Peruvian restaurants in Miami and there ceviche is amazing. This is a small restaurant, but don't be misled the chef is wonderful. There typical traditional dishes like Lomo Saltado( steak strips mixed with French fries)and their Chaufa de Mariscos(combination of seafood) is also delicious. There beer Cusqueña, has a nice light side to it complements the dishes well. There are some dishes that are family style and can be shared. The only complaint if that is that there Sangria is average and in my opinion expensive for what it is. As for the service, they are pretty good and attentive to your needs. Lastly, the pictures on the walls give you a nice feel and are pretty. Enjoy this hidden gem."

"Our first visit, did not look like much when we pulled up. Inside is small, we were enthusiastically greeted, a futball game was on the TVs in the room corners, most tables were full, ethnic music was blarring but it was a fit for the atmosphere. We were enchanted. The service was prompt, the food takes time to prepare, but was perfectly cooked when it arrived. I had short ribs a lot of food! The hot sauces served with it added a tantalizingflavour, but I loved their chimmichurri sauce that was served on it. We ordered a tiramisu to share, delish; and we ordered empenadas to go ,for later. We will return."

"I work nearby so I often come here after my shift ends. Amazing, amazing food. I proposed myself one year ago to try every lomo saltado I could in Fairfield county, and Acuario has the best one by far, and believe me, I've tried more than 10 Peruvian places here. The drinks are tasty too. Cris is a funny, but fast bartender and makes a real good pisco sour. The ambience is more of a standard Latino place. Expect salsa music, lots of Spanish speaking people, soccer on the TVs, and lively weekends evenings with families everywhere. I wonder if they could play more boleros or more authentic Peruvian music though lol. I give service a 4/5 because not everyone is so attentive there, but it's minimal stuff... Like a waitress not checking if you need anything else after you finished eating."

"A bad experience. Buy chicken areoz chaufa, fish ceviche and jelly. The jelly was okay, but the quantity and size was very poor. Not just the quantity But what the food looked like. Without mentioning that the tartar sauce or the canchita did not come. I didn't provide the ceviche, but 5 small pieces on the plate!!!!? Don't go overboard. Incredible for a small plate. The chaufa was delicious. Unfortunately, I will not order from there. Buyer beware: If you like ceviche and the garnish that you eat with it, be mindful that you might not get what you picture in your mind. The jelly was very low quality. I sure do not recommend. The chaufa was good, but quantity vs price it doesn't match, you might as well order Chinese food."

"Our Anniversary dinner at La Costanera was amazing! Everything sounded so good, so we ordered a bunch of “small” plates to share and taste everything, we were too full and had to take a lot home, including dessert! Surprisingly, my favorite thing was the stuffed avocado! It was topped with a mildly spicy chicken/chicharrones and this yummy sauce, with microgreens. They should call this place “Sauce”, because the expertly thought out sauces and drizzles on every little detail make every item on the menu absolute perfection! We’ve been here a few times, twice this year for Valentine’s Day our Anniversary and once at the prior location for a birthday, and…we always leave thoroughly satisfied with the food, the service, and the ambience just lovely right on the water. I am also awestruck by whomever did the interior design on this new location…I say it every time we come but every little detail down to the driftwood-lined wall sconces and mix of patterns and colors with Peruvian influences makes it even more of an experience! Even the mocktails were fancy, plus the Peruvian Pisco specialty and tastings are not something you see everyday. If you have never been…you must go! We will be back very soon! There is also a cute Italian bakery next door (Meza Luna), local brew house, harbor activities near by, fish market and lots of activities. It is the place to be, with lots of easy parking."

"I would advise against ordering takeout or using Uber Eats from this place. Honestly, it's best to avoid dining here altogether. The ají de gallina was more like a watery soup, and the chicken lacked flavor. Unfortunately, some family members experienced food poisoning from the ceviche and lomo saltado, resulting in vomiting. Don't waste your time here; instead, consider ordering from Embarcadero or Mr. Ceviche."

You owners increased the prices and it is not fair that the food is in those conditions. There are many irregularities, I went to the bathroom and everything was filthy, when there are more than 10 waitresses. If they don't change their restaurant, it will go down a lot. "my man saw this place on facebook and judged by the pictures he thought this place would be a great place to try for us. we drove from parkchester to try this place. the restaurant is beautiful so that a plus was the only case that there were many flying. we did lunch. my man had a drink of the bulldogge the corona was half full eating had no taste. all tasted as if it came from a dose, especially the mammals. I wanted suppe and they had no suppe anymore, which comes with the lunch so we had to go with the salat. the salate they gave was so tender that he was in the refrigerator for days. eating was terrible, I doubt very much that the person cooking in this kitchen is a chef or a chef. one of the waitresses was nice. that looked with the blond hair, as if it were frustrated. no customers should hear a waitress, huffing and puffing in the rule we take pictures of our eating, but the presentation of this plate was not great at all."

"Unusually bad night for service at Inca's Kitchen! We have been there many times and we always enjoy the food. Usually the service is equally excellent. However, during our recent visit the service was really terrible. Had this been our first visit it would definitely have been our last. We waited over 15 minutes for an acknowledgement and then another 15 minutes for our drinks order. We were promised a replacement for a particularly watery drink (it had been sitting at the bar waiting to be picked up and delivered to us for a long time and the ice had melted). The replacement never came. Our food also took a very long time to arrive. We watched as tables around us were seated, had their drinks, ate their meals and left, before we ever even got our food! A second round of drinks was ordered, but never arrived. We had to hunt down our server to get the check. We know this isn't the norm so we will go back, but this experience really was pretty bad."

"We dined at this restaurant multiple times and the cuisine is superb. Our top picks are the green enchiladas and arroz chaufa. We enjoyed the food so much that we decided to order it for our son's first birthday party, to serve over 20 guests. The food was a hit, as expected! Many guests inquired about the chef behind the delicious rice, and received rave reviews from native Peruvians. Deducting one star because I placed my order at 11:30 but it was not prepared until I arrived."
