"I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all. They call it Nepalese, but it's just a fancy name for Indian food that I love. There are many excellent Indian restaurants here, but this is not one of them. Firstly, there were no other customers when we got there. Two parties came in after us and we are looked after before us. We have expressly told the waitress everything mild. When we ordered a birayani she forgot to tell us until we complained that it is always spicy. We started with an inedible lentil soup. It was cold and salty. We asked for hot tea and she said they had gone out that afternoon. Our chicken tikka was all sauce and very little chicken. We sent it back and told them to add more chicken. The shrimp dish was the same - all sauce and hardly any shrimp. The sauces over the rice were pleasant, but overpriced for how little you got. We enjoyed the starter of Mo MO and the Chana Masala. I love Mango Lassi, but they just poured it out of a 1 gallon container. It was probably pre-made in the supermarket. Don't go here when we have such a large and diverse Indian community with excellent restaurants across the region."

"The food was not good and the service was lacking. Our server only came to our table twice during our meal and did not refill our water. The food was cold and the fish tacos tasted like they had been reheated several times. The chicken was dry and the asada tacos did not have pineapples as advertised. The restaurant was nice, but I will not be going back or suggesting it to a friend."

"We had a lot of restaurants to pick from, but something about the Elgin stood out. We're so glad we picked it. Our table was actually ready 30 minutes before we were, so there was zero wait once we arrived. The staff was attentive, but not intrusive. Our drinks took only a few moments and food came out soon after. Everything was hot off the stove/oven/grill and everyone enjoyed their meals. Couldn't have asked for a better spot to dine!!"

"We took a friend for a birthday dinner at Cathedrale. The black truffle fettuccine was horrid. The dish was left sitting in the kitchen and the pasta had hardened in the dish and the black truffles shavings had cooked atop the pasta in the process which rendered the dish inedible and it was returned. Unfortunately, it was not returned quickly. We mentioned the issue immediately to an employee but our server was not notified for ten minutes which meant two of us finished our meals while one waited for the pasta correction. The pasta diner chose to skip the main and we all ordered desserts. When desserts arrived, the restaurant tried to compensate for the pasta error by providing two complimentary desserts to our birthday guest along with the dessert he ordered which was both overwhelming and odd. Why not just comp a few desserts? Why bring us two additional? I guess they needed the money. The restaurant is nicely decorated for a basement hall but other than the decor, it 's simply not anywhere in the league of NYC 's best."

"Ladies night out to celebrate one of our favorites and the night was awesome. Robby, our waiter, was so great. He answered every question asked with ease, confidence, and quick wittedness. I was impressed; waiting on a bunch of older women can sometimes be overwhelming: the cocktails were delicious, the food was delicious. (Calamari, Brussels, salmon cooked perfectly, flavors so yummy and then the manager came over at the end of the night to give us some complimentary pastries left over from the morning to help celebrate the bday girl! what a great venue for a lovely evening out . thanks Kona Craft Kitchen and Robby and Brett?, and the chef."
