"My wife and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and wanted to dine at a nearby restaurant. That morning, my wife’s Staten Island hairdresser recommended Carini’s Pizzaria Trattoria, just a short drive away. She mentioned it was family-owned and served authentic Italian cuisine. Having recently moved to Southwest Florida from Philadelphia and Brooklyn, we had been desperately missing well-made Italian food. So, we decided to give Carini’s a try—and it was a wonderful choice.
We were warmly greeted at the door by Mr. Rinaldi, a distinguished gentleman from Naples who works for the owner's son. He served as our waiter, server, sommelier, and handled the check with great charm and professionalism.
Now, the food: the garlic cheese bread was the best I’ve had in years—served hot and bubbly with a perfectly heated, delicious marinara sauce. For our main courses, we had Spaghetti Bolognese and Rigatoni with broccoli rabe and sausage. Both dishes were expertly prepared, incredibly flavorful, and generously sized—we even took some home for the next day. For dessert, we shared a delightful Limoncello cake, which was equally delicious. We finished our meal with espresso topped with a rich layer of crema.
After a year in a place lacking good Italian food, we finally found an oasis at Carini’s and definitely plan to return. There are so many great dishes and pizzas to try!"
