"We live nearby so usually takeout. Rabo oxtails, chivo goat, mondongo tripe soup, roasted chicken, baked grouper, shrimps these all work well for takeout, but some are only available certain days. The restaurant gets crowded, especially in the evening, so we don't eat in the restaurant that often unless we can go for late lunch before the crowds but some dishes, like grilled fish, are best to eat there while they're hot so better to eat there in the restaurant for those dishes. Malecon gets some really nice desserts tres leches and flan are very good"

"there is not a single item on this menu that’s anything less than fantastic. we’ve had the mofongo, sancocho, grilled octopus, burger, cubano, empanadas, tostones rellenos. they’re all EXCEPTIONAL, and there’s so much more i want to try. the folks who work here are also the absolute kindest and coolest. when i’m at puerto viejo, i’m just happy, man! the vibes and ambiance are on point too. great for dates, friend hangs, family outings, really you name it. 15/10"

"I showed up there last Saturday not knowing what to expect. I was not with anyone so I sat at the end of the bar by myself. The manager, OMG she was amazing, I felt welcomed, taken care of and looked after. The bartender was amazing. I felt they were family and I had been going there for years. The band and music were spectacular, I am still singing the songs in my head that I once knew, not to mention, they sounded like the original orchestra . I had the most amazing evening I have had in years. I look forward to going back. Thank you for making my night."

"Next time, if it's going to take 40 minutes, just let me know upfront instead of saying 20. I could have used that time to relax or get some work done. I ordered carne frita with French fries, which were a bit too thin for my liking, although the juices from the meat added a lot of flavor. I also had a steak quesadilla, which was delicious. I placed my order at 10:49, and my food finally arrived at 11:30."

"3 stars for an ok Mofongo when I expected great since they got some recognition back in 2015 for the Mofongo. I started with the codfish croquettes and that was the highlight of my meal which is not what I expected. I came here to try the famous award winning Mofongo and left a bit dissapointed. I ordered with pepper chicken which is basically chicken fajitas made with onions and peppers. The plantain mash was very dry and if it wasn't for the sauce that came with the fajitas it would've been even harder to eat. I got one piece of chewy pork rind(chicharron) in the mix and the outside of the mash was hard almost like chewing rubber. The chicken on the fajitas had really good flavor but was also very rubbery as if it was reheated. Honestly I ate this because I was really hungry but it was not a good meal except for the croquettes. guess they used to cook better and make an amazing Mofongo back on the day but I never had it before so l'm just judging what I had today."

"Have many of their menu choices tried and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed, food is AMAZING!! My favourite is oxtail and the grilled pork stall w/white rice black beans!!! "There are very few stores open at the mall, with Boscov's being the only one worth visiting for me. The rest of the mall just doesn't make the trip worthwhile. It's disappointing; it used to be a bustling shopping center, but that's no longer the case. I think it would be better to tear it down and construct something more beneficial, like senior apartments. There’s a real need for that in Berks County and Pennsylvania, as there isn’t enough being done for seniors in the area."
