"La Lomita is somewhere we have been visiting for years. We were introduced to it by friends who had been frequenting there for decades. Their comment was that it seemed so friendly the first time they stepped in, with everyone in the restaurant loudly greeting them-then after a pitcher of margaritas they were the same way. They realized the margaritas were so good, everyone in the restaurant was tipsy.The drinks remain good at La Lomita. The food has always been good, but nothing astounding. It has a nice environment that makes you feel like you have traveled outside of DC inside, an outdoor patio with good seating, and, at least used to have, live music. It is not Americanized to where everything has copious amounts of cheese and occasionally you want more salt or sauce.The salsa is fresh and good. You don't have to order chips, they give them to you. The staff is friendly and on top of things. The owners are the kind of people you can get to know by frequenting. And, did I mention, the drinks are pretty good, especially the margaritas. Great place to hang out with friends or have a family dinner."
