"I've had the opportunity to visit several Wokcano locations during my business travels, and I've always enjoyed exceptional food and service. One of my favorite spots is in Santa Monica, CA, where my go-to dishes are the chicken pad Thai and fried rice. Wokcano is known for its upscale service (at least from my past experiences). I was excited to try this particular location since it opened.
Our server was fantastic—nothing against her personally, but she did mention she was working alone. She provided great service. However, I was disappointed with the food. The dishes I ordered were quite bland; the rice was subpar, and the pad Thai lacked flavor. Additionally, the cleanliness was an issue; the floors were messy, and the walls beside me felt sticky. There were lime wedges on the floor, and it seemed like the tables next to me hadn't been swept in quite some time. The busser who came by quickly cleaned one table but didn’t attend to the overall mess.
I wish my experience had been better. I suggest that Wokcano hire more staff to assist the young lady server and focus on cleanliness and consistency. Presentation is the first thing customers notice, and maintaining it is crucial."
