"All in all, I was a bit let down. The visit started off on a not so great note when no one said hi or really acknowledged us standing there and when I walked a little further in to the front area to ask if we could take the one empty booth, the waitress snapped that she needed to clean the table first. Things got better over the course of our meal but the overall temperature from the waitress was pretty cold. The food itself was okay but nothing stood out. The Asian Chopped salad was long slivers of red and green peppers and crunchy noodles, not the neatest thing to eat, but I liked the addition of roasted peanuts. Other than the dressing (the usual sesame/ginger , not clear what made it Asian. The stir fry veggies bowl was a sad, goopy mix of basic vegetables tossed in a brown sauce with an enormous portion of white rice. For a $13 dish, the actual portion of veggies was measly (and c 'mon, no baby corn or water chestnuts or eggplant? . The fish tacos fared better with a crispy battered shell that held up all right under a mountain of toppings (slaw, pico de gallo, guac, cilantro, and jalapeños . I 'm a taco purist and like eating a well constructed taco that stays relatively intact with every bite this one fell apart just lifting it up. Biggest disappointment was the harvest chicken salad sandwich. I love a good simple chicken salad sandwich, nothing hits the spot more. The cream in this one was overpoweringly sweet. It tasted like a Japanese take on an American classic, but what didn 't do it for me was how overly buttered the bread was and the lukewarm temperature of the chicken salad, probably having been taken out of the fridge and squashed between two slices of toast. Overall, meh the drinks and desserts looked good but not sure I 'd come back."

"I chose Cabo 's Island Grill and Bar because I was on my way with my NV SO and I felt it was necessary to get a 'good' meal home for the 6 hours drive. Lucky Cow reviews mentions good vegan options here and it has hundreds of good omni reviews. Unfortunately, neither our meals were good. The exception was an outstanding secondary salad, which I would have ordered. This thing had paprika, carrots, onions, mushrooms, crumbs (not sure whether vegan), cucumbers, a quarter of tomatoes, and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds over a bed of green. Very fresh, colorful and delicious (after him and he doesn't even like salad). My meal was a tostada. I really felt confident in my order, because when I asked about vegan-friendly dishes, the server really knew what she was talking about. As I ordered the tostada, she said "without cheese", add corn. I knew I'd come here. I just expect from non-vegan restaurants. I expect my food to be unseasonal, bland, boring, etc. The worst case scenario, my expectations are fulfilled, and I am no longer affected by it. Unfortunately, today was a "catastrophe case scenario"... I ate some bits from the top at the first and, as expected, it was not seasoned cans of black beans, unconstricted corn, salad, cubed tomatoes. It seemed to be green spots on him and a dusting of something red on the whole plate. The red was paprika. Not even smoked, just paprika. It was really weird and didn't add anything to the court. I couldn't taste the green though I suspect it was meant to be cilantro. Since I have the OR6A2 gene, Cilantro STRONGLY tastes soap and since I couldn't taste it, I don't know what it was. I started taking the tortilla a bit apart and doing it in chips, basically. After a few bites of it... I noticed something brown on the plate... fried beans. I picked up the Tostada. The whole soil was covered with fried beans. Whelp, dinner is over, that was great, but no thanks. The server came by and I double checked with her that refried were not vegan, they are not, they are apologized and offered to remake it and then took it. I didn't want another one, but okay. She returned, called the person who made it an idiot, and laughed at the whole thing. Hm. I ate the corn from it and pushed it away. The second plate was missing the strange paprika garnish and the 'green stuff'. Overall, I would not recommend this place vegan."
