"First and foremost the biggest take away I had with the Segunda Bakery was DISAPPOINTED! Extremely.. being from Miami and having grown up with a Grand Father who came to this Country from Cuba in 1966 and then opened up the First Cuban Bakery in the City of Hialeah back in 1975 knowing the core and taste of what a true Cuban Bakery is La Segunda really was a Disappointment. The Cuban Bread was horrible.. Long and lanky but it was extremely hard to pull apart and took forever to chew.. not to mention it was nothing like a Cuban Bread should be. It looked and tasted like that Bread that gets driven in by a Truck to local Markets. The Pastries or PASTELITOS were called “Turnovers”.. apparently the current owners and Grandson of the Original Founders really messed that one up Americanizing the name and only having a select few on top of that.. Guava and Cheese and some other one.. what happened to having Pastelitos de Guayava? De Guava Queso? De Carne? De Coco? come on guys.. you messed that one up.. then there were no Cuban Crocketas.. or Cuban Empanadas.. unreal.. No Galletas Cubanas (Cuban Crackers) and many Cuban Dulces were missing such as: El Montecristo/Eclairs, la Señorita, Pudding de Pan, el Caracol and many more Signature Cuban deserts.. and lastly.. what a Disappointment.. the Drinks.. they had a Fountain Machine there with Coke and Sprite etc.. but didn’t have a Cooler with Signature Cuban Sodas such as MATERVA, JUPINA and IRON BEER.. just Disappointed.. La Segunda Bakery is no longer Authentic Cuban.. and it’s been Commercialized which has caused it to lose it’s History.. it’s just a business now.. with employees just being instructed on how to do things the way this newer Generation of Owners want it to be done with is Non Cuban.. Trust me.. Worse Cuban Bakery I’ve ever been to in my lifetime and that’s a shame.."
