"To start, the hot crab dip is delicious. We always find ourselves running out of crackers, so one of us often ends up finishing it with a spoon. My go-to dish is the stuffed shrimp, which can be ordered either fried or broiled—I always choose fried. There are five shrimp in total, and they are quite large! They're also incredibly flavorful, as they are filled with blue crab meat dressing and wrapped in bacon. I highly recommend it! On the side, you can enjoy great hush puppies and fries, and surprisingly, the salads are excellent too. Once again, we have always had fantastic servers. So, Dewey Destin's never disappoints! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!"

"Have had good dining experiences at Dewey Destin's on numerous occasions in the past . . but was disappointed on my most recent visit. I had bragged on this place and took an out-of-town coworker for a nice seafood dinner. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. Gumbo was bland. Scallops were coated with a thick, crunchy breading with a small morsel of dry, overcooked meat inside. Fish was tough and chewy . . again, overcooked. Hushpuppies were overcooked and dry. The Shrimp and Cole Slaw was good. Our waiter was attentive and did a great job. The experience of the cook in the kitchen needs to be addressed. If you are going to specialize in seafood . . you need a cook that knows how to prepare it properly. There are too many other good seafood restaurants in Destin, FL."

"When a local mentioned that this restaurant was one of their favorites, I knew I had found the right spot. Initially, I had some reservations. The process requires you to stand in line outside until it's your turn to order. After that, you choose your own seat, which is typically outside. The atmosphere is simple and rustic. Once you place your order, you find your table, and they bring the food to you, calling out your name. The dishes are served in a basket. It's all very casual and straightforward, but the food is outstanding! Located by the water, everything is incredibly fresh. If you don't mind a no-frills experience and appreciate delicious, uncomplicated seafood, this is the place for you. They have two locations, and we visited the one by the wharf. Highly recommended!"

"Good but not fantastic. The interior was decorated beautifully and it was cool to get a very traditional, old fashioned New Orleans dining experience. I enjoyed my red fish with oyster sauce dish, though it was a little small. Definitely get an appetizer and an entree if you get a seafood dish here. The creme brulee was quite fun with the fleur de lis powdered sugar design, but I wish the plate had been deeper and smaller so it was more creamy, it was a little overcooked. A couple of people in my group ordered medium well cooked steaks but they were very pink in the middle (like a half inch thick). Overall a fun experience as long as you expect it to be old fashioned."

"Food was very good except for the sweet potato fries. They were very thinly sliced almost thick potato chip depth. Then they were covered with sugar and cinnamon. They had NO sweet potato flavor. The mixed vegetable side was a very small serving in a thick vinegary sauce and consisted mainly of slice onions. Our server was very nice and helpful and the Cajun pasta with lots of chicken and the loaded hamburger were delicious. Unfortunately, only Pepsi products. boo hoo."
