"The pros: food was delicious, it's a beautiful place, and our waitress was really nice. The cons: We had a reservation at 7pm. It was about 7:15 when two walk ins were seated before us. By 7:30, our name still wasn't called so my mom went to the hostess to see how much longer it would be. They were able to seat us immediately, so it seemed that they just forgot. After ordering, we did not get our food until after 9pm. People who sat after us got our food and finished eating before we even got our food. Between when our reservation was supposed to be and getting our food, we waited over two hours. I feel like this was way too long. My food as well as another persons food was lukewarm but we didn't say anything because we just wanted to eat and we were so hungry. We were a party of 4 and this is what we had: A salad A chowder Steak with potatos Two salmon dinners A sushi roll. I do not feel like this was enough food to justify the wait. Overall it was good but the service could've been much better. Waitress was doing her best so no complaints on her. I would come back here and give it another try because it's such a beautiful place and the food was really good overall..I just wouldn't come back any time soon because I feel they need time to get everything in order. This place has been around for so long and has a great reputation. There's no way I believe this is how the service typically is. Would come back, just not any time soon."

"Nantucket Reef has been on my To Try for Happy Hour list for quite a while. Now, it is checked off, and I have mixed feelings about whether I will go back. It was not a negative experience, nor was it positive. And fortunately, we were able to choose to laugh rather than grumble about all the frustrating things that unfolded across those couple of hours. According to their website, happy hour is from 3 PM to closing. Upon arrival, we were told that happy hour is actually only from 3 to 7 PM. We were also told that happy hour was only in the bar area, which wasn 't a surprise, except that the bar area is incredibly tiny and there were no wheelchair accessible places for us to settle. I asked if we could be seated at a table right next to the bar area and still enjoy happy hour because of my wheelchair. The two ladies at the reception desk said no. So I asked to speak to a manager, who said yes we could actually sit at a table next to the bar area, but that he couldn 't give us bar menus because if he gave them to us, then he 'd have to give them to everyone. Our server came and when I asked what type of light beer they had, he asked what color light I was looking for. I said no, light beer like Michelob ultra or something like that. And he said is that a yellow color or a golden color, how light of a color are you looking for. He really had no clue what I was asking for when I asked about light beer. Then we asked about the day 's market price on things like the crab cake, the lobster roll, and a lobster salad. He said there were $11 each. When we asked him to doublecheck before we ordered, he came back and said they were actually about $23 $25 each. Hmmm... more than twice what he said was the price. Good thing we asked for verification before placing an order. So we began with the fish taco HH appetizer for $7. I was actually very pleasantly surprised to see that two good size tacos on a plate with french fries arrived for that price. I ate one of the tacos, and the friend I was with had the other one. She commented that the fish was pretty good. That was when I realized there was no fish with my fish taco, it was only lettuce and tomato and they have forgotten the fish and the sauce. When I did taste the fish taco, with actual fish in it, she was correct that it had a nice taste. A shame I missed it in mine. The fries were hot but not really crisp or flavorful. Didn 't stop us from eating them tho : We also tried the shrimp dinner and a crab cake on the side. Shrimp was good sized and tasted okay. The crab cake was very meaty with very little breading and a nice flavor (better than the shrimp but had little bits of shell in most bites. The cole slaw was just meh and a very small portion. We ordered the free Caesar salad that was part of the Yelp app check in special. Glad it was free cause we didn 't eat it it was very limp and not a good salad at all. There were other things that happened during the evening with the waiter and with the neighboring table that could have ruined the night, but we allowed it all to amuse us instead. And not that this should matter but it kinda does. The cell reception was so poor no WiFi available that we could not send or receive messages (or check into Yelp without going outside : So some food was good, and some not, and some came missing parts (like fish on a fish taco and some came with extra parts (like shells in the crab cake . I don 't have a desire to go back, but if a group of friends were gathering and chose Nantucket Reef as their destination I would go."

"The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very inviting and cozy. While we waited for our meal, I remarked that this place reminded me of what Bennigan's could have been. The staff remained just as friendly in person. At one point, a waiter even sat down to have his own meal but still made it a point to check on us. Our food arrived rather quickly, about 15 minutes after we placed our order. The bag included a ticket confirming our order: a taco salad without olives, ranch and salsa on the side, and tilapia with steamed broccoli and corn, along with tartar sauce. However, when we reached home, I realized that my taco salad had been swapped with a pork roast served with macaroni and cheese and corn. What a major letdown! If there were an anti-taco salad, that would be it. I called the restaurant to find out what had happened. They stated they would look into the mix-up, which I assumed was due to them having an extra taco salad recorded. It was too far for me to return before closing time, so they initially offered me a credit for a free meal on my next visit. I appreciated the offer, but later they informed me after consulting the manager that they couldn't offer a free meal instead, they would credit my card for the cost of the taco salad. On a brighter note, my wife's tilapia was fantastic! It was cooked perfectly with a delightful char on the outside. I tried to create a sandwich using the pork, adding some onions and jalapeños along with one of the rolls they provided. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, especially given the excellent customer service and the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. It felt like hitting a home run only to pull a hamstring while rounding the bases. Having worked in the service industry for years, I know that mistakes can happen. There were countless nights when I woke up in a panic, realizing I had forgotten to deliver something a customer had ordered. I can only imagine how disheartening it was for the well-meaning staff who mistakenly served a pork roast instead of my taco salad. Just a little advice – always double-check your order before you leave!"
