"Upon entering the restaurant, I found the atmosphere quite open and sterile at first. However, it became more inviting once we settled into a booth. The service, on the other hand, was lacking. The sole waitress on duty was friendly but not particularly attentive. We often had to summon her whenever we needed anything, as she didn't check on us during our meal. Her only visits to our table were to bring our food.
Our meals took an unusually long time to arrive, which made me suspect there might be a staffing issue—and I was correct. While we were eating, the owner or manager came over to apologize for the delay caused by a labor shortage, and he graciously informed us that our meal would be complimentary because we had waited longer than expected. This was a thoughtful gesture, and while we offered to pay, he cut our bill by half.
As for the food, it was typical diner fare. We had weak coffee, eggs, decent bacon, hash browns (which could have been cooked a bit longer but were not overly greasy), toast, tasty grits, French toast (which was rather underwhelming), sausage, pancakes (which were quite good!), and breakfast tacos made with store-bought Mission flour tortillas, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try the biscuits, which looked big and fluffy, nor did we sample the lunch menu. Overall, nothing from the menu really stood out as distinctive or memorable, except for the pancakes.
The prices were higher than I anticipated for the location and size of the establishment. On a positive note, the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Overall, the experience was just average. If you do decide to stop by, I'd recommend the pancakes with bacon. At the next table, a woman ordered a biscuit breakfast sandwich that looked absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to taste it."
