"We dine at Magics on a regular basis since we live just across Ali'i Drive and have always had a very good experience. This time our experience was a bit disappointing. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed perhaps due to the high volume of people and did not communicate with us as we waited about 15 minutes for a table despite a reservation (we were 5 minutes early). We waited much longer than usual for the server to take our order and our drinks came out about 10 minutes after we ordered; our pupu dish took another 10 minutes after that. Our food came then out another 5-10 minutes later and was lukewarm at best. When I mentioned that to the server, I expected the GM to at least come over and apologize. As we left, I ran into the GM, who explained he was the new GM, and he apologized for not knowing about our cold food and promised to make it right on our next visit. We enjoy the ambience and hope this was a one-off and we'll certainly be back. However, on this night we did not receive the value for our the cost of our dining."
