"Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start! Before we even got to Second Happy Door, the host greeted us with menus, and they were very polite. Once we sat down, we were served refreshing water with ice and napkins—such attentive service! Our waiter came by shortly after to take our orders, and the coffee arrived quickly. We ordered the French Toast Deluxe, which came with eggs and cheese, as well as cheddar cheese and extra pancakes. Honestly, this was the best French toast I've ever had! It was perfectly warm and cooked just right in the middle. The flavor was outstanding; the cook truly nailed it. The presentation was also impressive!"

"I had the Spicy Lover, it was so delicious, Rutgers to me is known for the Fat Sandwiches. Gotta love Jerz for this reason because I'm from the Midwest. They always have unique names for sandwiches that are packed with greasy unhealthy meat and fries for college goers to get full for a nice price. I'm going to be back so toned in."

"My daughter ordered some food From here and it was pretty good. However the chicken wings was not done enough and they tasted like the chicken wasn't clean enough at all. They have to do better, the business itself the people that are preparing the food have to do better. Real people can taste dirty food and know the difference. A health inspector knows to know about this."

"We drove by and they looked busy. We walked in and got a table right away. The service was amazing. Our waitress was great and attentive. The portions were huge, even the appetizers. We got the frito misto, prime rib, crab with mahi mahi, and shrimp en croute. The frito misto was not heavy for being fried. The entrees were piping hot, even the baked potato. The chargrilled asparagus was delicious and memorable. Everything was well seasoned. By the time our entrees came, we were getting full because the food was rich. I was blown away with the experience and delicious food. Would highly recommend for dinner in the area."

"I visited this restaurant for lunch and tried the BBQ sandwich along with some oak fries. While I would rate the food itself as three stars, I’ve given them four stars overall because of their friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant was clean, and the decor was quite nice as well. I do think they could benefit from having more or larger screens. The prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous, which I really appreciated. Overall, I believe it's a great place to hang out with friends."

"Wonderful wonderful wonderful!! From the welcoming atmosphere, to the service, to the delicious food. We were travelling from Canada and knew we had to come here before leaving. My aunt remembered this place from years ago when she last visited Detroit (8 years ago) and it did not disappoint last time or this time. The food was very flavourful, you can tell it was made with care and true passion. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed like family by the employees and customers! They were personable and enjoyable individuals. Their menu has a wonderful variety so there will for sure be something on there for you! The portion sizes definitely give you a bang for your buck! I will forever rave about Royal BBQ Pizza! "The taste of our lunch was on spot as it always is with 54th. The minor issues started with the hostess walking us to a table, laying the menus down and saying here ya go. That's was ignored by my group as we didn't mind worrying about it. The other small issue that surfaced was the server came to our table 2 times. Once for drinks and once for our order. She never came back. I had to ask her passing me if she wouldn't mind getting us more water (yes, i said excuse me, when you have a moment would you mind getting us some water). Which she did nicely (so i guess 3 times she visited). But we all noticed our server and other servers walking around talking on their phones in the dining room even as they brought things to the table. We are a kind group of individuals that don't like to make waves so we didn't say anything but the servers were literally delivering food and walking to tables with their cell to their ear. I don't mind you speaking on your phone but maybe not while walking by my table. I felt embarrassed to interrupt their phone call to ask for anything so my group didn't. This doesn't mean our food was perfect (it was). We are just a little considered about the management's ability to have the servers attend the visitors and not be on their phone."

"I enjoyed my time here and I had a good meal. My server was very friendly and helpful with her suggestions. I was served water right away and my server took my order after giving me some time to review the menu. After I ordered the baked brie as an appetizer and was brought , my wait time increased. I didn't have to wait long for my appetizer, but, my main course took a little while. I think I have been to so many restaurants where they keep checking on you, having an uninterrupted meal seams different. I had the Tournados Au Poivre, well done, with pesto pasta and green beans. It was good! Dessert was the seasonal special, pumpkin and sweet potato pastry with cinnamon and caramel drizzle with ice-cream, whipped cream and strawberries, with coffee. Very good ! I recommend this restaurant. Just be aware you may get sticker shock on prices, but, this is not a Applebee's: . I gave five s because a fellow patron began to choke on her food and the hostess performed the Heimlich and saved the woman's life. That is the first that has happened while I was eating. Great job ! The event happened and was over quickly. Wifi available."

"Dana is the best waitress here, hands down. One of us ordered the breakfast combo (pancakes, scrambled eggs w/cheese, turkey bacon, turkey sausage). The other guest ordered the California burger with mushrooms sauteed onions as extras on it. The burger was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I like how the burger combos come with fries, pickle, coleslaw a choice of soup. For under $20 you can't beat that price. Portion sizes are very hearty here. Service was excellent, spacious seating booths, adequate parking. A hidden diner gem in the far NE that I thoroughly enjoyed. Don't hesitate stopping past here for a hearty meal great customer service. And see if u can get Dana too."

"I will start out by saying I made a reservation for 2, a day in advance for Friday evening, as I know they get busy. I had to make an addition to our reservations (1 person and room for a stroller), so I called to make sure that would be okay and to adjust that accordingly. The person who answered my call made sure that could be accommodated and stated it would be no problem and that our table would be indoors and they even changed our table so that it would no longer be a high top table like originally planned so that it could be easier for the stroller. We arrived to our reservation at 6:30 right on time that evening and were brought outside to be seated. I made sure to say something to the wait staff and said we requested an indoor table and being seated outside would not work for us, as we have an infant with us that does not have a jacket, hat or mittens and the sun went down. I was greeted by the manager who told me that they had no spots for us indoors and attempted a pity solution of “we could get a blanket”. You can get me a blanket in a restaurant but not a table for me that I reserved and spoke to someone about being indoors and be accommodated for our stroller? Instead, management would rather have me take my preemie infant outside and sit when the sun is clearly down and it was clearly going to get colder? There was no “I’m sorry, we gave your table away” or “I’m sorry we didn’t plan accordingly and timing isn’t working out the best for our table” or even a “you can take a seat here until we have a table for you”. It gave us a bad taste in our mouth. It was a horrible experience for us. Mind you- I’ve been a restaurant manager before. I’ve been on the other side and I’ve also been a server (8 years of experience). Super disappointed at the lack of care or acknowledgment of the problem."

"Great for parties! My 6 years old wanted to have a mini-golf birthday party and that was the perfect place. We had arranged everything before, including children's dishes for golf. They let us set up decorations on the outdoor tables and let us even use our Pokemon plates/coups for meals. We had 19 children and 10 adults and everything went so smooth. The servers were so organized and patient, and the food was perfect! We brought our own cupcakes and let the children order ice cream. The costs were great without cost to reserve the tables before time etc., in fact we have a discount on the minigolf for a large group. Can't recommend this place enough for kids parties!"

"We asked to sit inside in our reservation. We were brought to a table. The host said we had to sit outside because there were not enough chairs. We asked if we could bring an outside chair in, they said no. We sat outside. Three seconds later they brought an outside chair inside to the same exact table for a different party. Really annoying. And then our service sucked."

"The food scene of Appleton never ceases to impress me, and Garden View is no different in this respect. Walking in, you would think it is merely a stereotypical breakfast diner, but it is much more than that. The personability of the owner and staff, along with the quality of the food, set this place apart. We ordered two of the enchiladas options, and I have to say, they were some of the best we’ve had. We were also offered salsa made from fresh garden tomatillos. Very pleased, and will keep Garden View in mind next time we visit Appleton."

"Brought someone there yesterday 8/6/24 from out of town and we had a 10+ experience. Roast beef was good. Husband gad ribs. Friend had roast beef. I had shrimp stir fry. All meals were fabulous. Waitress was really friendly, nice, chipper and offered beverages. Asked us if we needed anything and stopped by several times. Pepper soup was delicious. Servie excellent. Food fantastic. "Went to the ice cream shop that is located inside. The young lady was extremely rude to my children. My child went up to complain about something being in her ice cream and was dismissed. When I tried to address it with the owner he came up with the great excuse that she was young and he had to teach her. If that’s the case, don’t have her working with customers until you feel she’s ready. We are frequents here but that is changing as of today."

"Invited to a birthday lunch at 54th Street Restaurant and Drafthouse and it was absolutely amazing! The meal presentations were fabulous, the location was perfect and the service was great. The Spinach Artichoke Cream Pasta suggestion with its bursts offlavors was nothing short of delectable. This spot is a lot larger than it looks from the outside.. there’s a main diningarea, a large bar area with craft beer and an outdoor patio. They opened at 11am and they were packed by 11:30. Enough said????"

"I visit this restaurant very often. Service food is always been great but last night staff was a extreme let down. I went to the bar to place a to go order. I placed my order at 9:10 pm. I ordered a sandwich fries so it should have only took 15 minutes to make. I asked 2 different bartenders on 3 separate occasions, can they check on my order. On the 4th time of me asking they went to the kitchen brought out my food, by this time it was 9:40 pm. Almost 30 minutes for a to go order with just a sandwich fries is completely unacceptable. I checked my order before I left of course the fries was cold it was only 8 fries on my plate. I notified the bartender she SNATCHED my food out my hand thru it in the trash very aggressively. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was very respectful smooth things over. I was very disappointed in my experience at this restaurant especially that I’m a regular customer here. I won’t be returning to this 54th Street for a while."
