"I ordered through Uber Eats, and I have to say, the ordering platform is a bit of a nightmare. When you try to order a bagel, it makes you select thirteen unique flavors, which is frustrating for someone like me who has a very specific order. You see, I love everything bagels for infusing those flavors onto the others, along with an even split of poppy and plain. I really just want my bagels without all those extra flavors complicating things!
Before placing my order, I called the restaurant and explained what I actually wanted. The woman on the phone was very accommodating, saying she could help me out. So I placed my order and added a note specifying the bagels I wanted, even mentioning that I loved the dark, bubbly ones if they had them.
To my delight, my bagels arrived about 10 minutes later, and when I opened the box, they looked perfect. I could even feel the warmth radiating from them—it was clear one batch had just come out of the oven. This created the ideal environment for my spread (butter, in my case) to be absolutely perfect!
I don’t take pride in this, but I ended up eating two bagels in a row. Afterward, I called back to express how well they had done. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the woman who prepared my order (and I believe took my initial call) because I got distracted by a work call. I wanted to give her a shoutout in this review because she deserves recognition. I think her name might have been Hannah or Angie, and I called around 11 AM and then again around 12:30 PM on July 25, a Tuesday.
Honestly, I've tried all the bagel places that come highly recommended, and who would have thought the crown would go to Manhattan Bagel? No joke, I was commuting to NYC a few days a week back in 2019, and these bagels are just as good as, if not better than, most I had there.
I’m taking the time to write this because pizza and bagels are really important to many of us, and everyone’s standards vary. So if what I’ve described sounds delicious to you, save yourself some time and go here!
Yes, I’ve eaten at this location before, and it’s not always perfect, but today it was, and that alone is enough for me to give it 5 stars! The potential for a perfect bagel experience far outweighs the rare mediocre one for me!"
